Why are you taking my release?

Not only did you not change the file names and idTags, but you also took the cover I made for this release.

The least you could do was give credit to me for the re-release.

So...he should give you credit for what? Uploading a commercial soundtrack onto the internet?

Dude, all you did was buy a soundtrack, .rar it up and upload it onto the internet and shared the link. You did not work whatsoever. Are we grateful for it? Yes.

But this is not *your* release. You have *no* right to anything to this soundtrack whatsoever. Except our thanks for putting it up in the first place.

Thanks, by the way.

Exactly Doublehex. Some people really are fussy about this uploading thing. Imagine how the composers feel when you upload their shit. And you feel insulted?

Also, seeing as how I posted this score yesterday, it's perfectly possible that he got this version from me.

Doublehex, Tyrion Lannister - I disagree guys. That's a pretty dicky attitude, and there's no need for that. Give credit when credit is due. It's a simple and honest thing to do.

Saying "all you did was buy a soundtrack" is shitty as fuck man, when we are talking about digital releases, because you're getting exactly the same thing as a person who shared it, this isn't even a lossless rip from a CD because an owner still has a CD over you, no this is the same files that he got except that he paid for it and you didn't.

Now I don't know who stole who's reupload here and what not, but this is just my outlook on this thing in general.

Even if it was a CD rip I would say the same thing. It takes so little work to do what we do here, compared to the people who compose the music, conduct it, perform it, master it, print it, ship it and sell it. It is complete arrogance and hubris to demand "I want you to give me credit for putting files on the internet!"

Completely asinine.

Look, I do gamerips - and not just put a bunch of unorganized sound files into a .rar and call it a day. I actually put them in a good listening order, I give them album quality names, I create a cover for it...I put alot of hard work into my releases. And even *I* don't give half of a wet shit if some guy uploads them to some other site or in an additional thread. I don't even care if he doesn't mention me AT ALL.

You know why? Because I don't deserve the credit! All of my work is nothing - NOTHING - compared to the composers, the orchestras, the sound engineers that worked their asses off for these soundtracks. Even crappy soundtracks are massive undertakings. Unless you are Jerry Fucking Goldsmith, you don't' put out a soundtrack in a week.

So, by what right do I have to demand credit?

Only one filled with hubris and arrogance.

Now I am all for saying "Thank you". That is just being polite. But reuploading a release? We don't have the right to demand someone give credit for that. If anything, we should be thanking them for delaying the time by which we'll need to reupload it again!
