Original Note:
Some tracks had to be renamed as they were incorrect, so past Complete and Unused versions
are not correct. A track was dropped as it was a copy of another, named and placed incorrectly.
I went through this Album and The Movie, so this will be the most comprehencive version available.
This does NOT include all Album Versions, mainly the Movie and Unused tracks. Get The other Album for those.
These tracks basically went through a whole new from scratch cleaning, reprocessing, remixing in the proccess
of remastering. I did the best i could with what i had from this set of recordings. Also one track was replaced.

I have a 4:48 length Mono version similar to the 44. above without the extra guitar in between. is that the one you're talking about? i could send a dirty copy in mp3 for you to check.

If i had all the recording tracks i would do that. As it stands at the moment, i could redo the GDM versions. A Fistful Of Dollars was not too bad, but For A Few was not correctly remastered. Clipping, improper cleaning methods leaving squeaks and still noisy and so on. BTW Thanks for rating Goback.

Couldn't resist - had to listen to these right away. Many years ago, I started off with the lp. Wore it out till there wasn't anything left to hear. Then came CDs and the sound was So Good, even if it was only a 20 minute or so soundtrack. The several years ago I was so excited to get the expanded soundtrack, better sound yet even with the low volume original cuts and the high volume new cuts. But finally - finally! - the GBU soundtrack I've always wanted to hear. When I said I listened to it, I listened to most of it. I missed a lot because I was laughing out loud at the sheer joy of hearing some of these cuts for the first time off-screen. I will give this many, many proper listens. And every time I do, I'll give you thanks. As I do now: Thank You!!!

The first time I saw GBU was in about 1972 on TV. It was in May, deep spring. For some reason for many years (even recently) May seems to be the month of choice for it to show up on TV here. So this movie is inextricably liked with Spring in my mind, and these next 8 or 10 weeks are the only time I really listen to it.
Again, I say how wonderful it is to listen to ALL of this music. Finally. I think I've played it through 3 times in the last 5 days.
What a great thing you've done, reconstructing this beautiful soundtrack, possibly my favourite soundtrack of all time.
Many, many more thanks, Spectre, for the work involved and for keeping this out there!

05-04-2014, 05:40 AM
For everyone's information: I downloaded both parts once again and put both in 1 folder then tried to extract both rar files at the same time. I got the same error message that all was good with the first rar and the 2nd rar was empty? . . . ? I was using "Alzip" which has served me well in the past. So I downloaded "WinRar" and tried to extract both again and BINGO, it worked like a charm. Part 2 prompted me for the password just like Part 1 and all the files were there! So the moral of the story - If you at first don't succeed, try another extractor program.

Oh hey great music, and one of my favorite movies but...
Is it me, or the panning is completely messed up on this album, compared to the old mono OST?
I tried to listen to "Padre Ramirez", a very beautiful track, but...
The guitar is on the left.... (O_O)
In the original OST, it was centered...
Some people might prefer that though. But personally I can't take it. lol
Anyway it was just a warning to people who look for the original OST.
This one has been seriously butchered. (>_<)

Ditto. Just downloaded it and all that's there is hiss. Whenever you get around to fixing it, Spectre. It'll be worth the wait. Thanks!

Guys, this is DTS 5.1 Surround. You need to run it through a DTS decoder compatible player. Hardware or software. A Bluray or maybe even a DVD player, or Foobar 2000 with a DTS plugin will work. If you want the Stereo 2 channel
version, wait a week and the Pro • Logic II Version should be posted. I'm in the middle of the Newly Remastered Jaws Soundtrack Set, then I'll do the Stereo compatible version of Good Bad and Ugly.

So it won't work on my machine? :(

You are so far ahead of me it's not funny. Wait...the tin can attached to the string is ringing and I have to answer it. ;)

Excellent thread, wonderful music; one of the greatest films and scores of all time - Ecstasy of Gold has always been my favourite track.
Thank you very much, Spectre. It is great to have complete score from this epic film.

Much obliged,

Q. What could be better than the rip of Ennio Morricone's classic score?

A. "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" Spectre Edition, of course!

Also known as: a classic illustration of the phrase "An embarrassment of riches" as never before :)

Thank you, Spectre!!

Might someone be able to point me in the direction of whatever *most* film-accurate version is out there? Chronological, pieces as accurate as in the film (which is probably damn near impossible) and all that's available? Been a while since I've seen this one. Thank for any help.
