Purchased an autographed copy from LLL when they still had them. Thanks for giving me a sneak peak before it gets here.

So far it sounds wonderful; like always with Mr. McCreary there's a strong emphasis on theme and melody.

Edit: It's actually fairly anonymous in a lot of parts. There's still about 20-25 minutes of solid material though. Theme's really nice.

Think of Medicine Man Meets Outland.

Hmmm… checking the calendar I see that April Fool's Day is still 9 months away. So Europa Report is… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Sorry, fell asleep there.

The score is fine and works very well within the film, the film is a bit too cerebral for many action Sci-Fi fans, as alluded to earlier on this thread.

Wasn't impressed enough by the music from the End Credits (as posted on YouTube) to buy this the day it came out, but I like McCreary enough that I'll give the album a couple listens to see if there's anything on it worth the purchase price. The film certainly sounds interesting.

I thought the movie was excellent, but it's definitely one of those that you need to have a taste for. Plays for realism and high geek factor over action and spectacle despite having quite some spectacular views. Easiest comparison is probably Moon, which I loved.

The score was beautiful and worked great in the movie. Standalone, I don't know if it's enough for me.

Saw the film. It has a problem. It doesn't make any conceptual sense.

On what planet would a company which financed an ill-fated exploratory mission to Europa edit its 21 months of transmission feed to produce a disjointed docu-thriller scored by Philip Glass for theatrical release?

BLARGH!

So given how misconceived the film is criticism of McCreary's monotonously superfluous score would be pointless.

Thanks so much for sharing this.

Just got done watching the movie, and all I can think of is "wow." I haven't seen a sci-fi film as good as this in awhile. Reminds me why I fell in love with space in the first place. I'll be seeing Gravity for the first time on Friday (I'm so glad they put the film back out in IMAX), so we'll see how these two compare.

Since this was a McCreary score, I obviously enjoyed it. I'll have to give the album a few listens to see how it rates.
