Honoring the Athenian Revue, one of the most important chapters of Greek theatre, Badminton Theater is proud to present a retrospective musical spectacular that narrates a chapter of Greek history through its legendary musical theater genre. Θα σε πάρω να φύγουμε (Tha Se Parw Na Fygoume)
The main character, known as “Mrs. Revue”, returns to the stage to travel back in time with her grand-son, guiding him and the audience through her glory days from 1930 to the start of the dictatorship in 1967. Throughout her story, we admire a parade of the unparalleled theater personalities of the time with their inimitable quotes and great voices. We enjoy the unforgettable songs and experience the glitz and glamour of venues of the golden era of the Athenian Revue. To complete our journey back in time, the sense of political and social change, the urbanization, the fate of Greece – are entwined with parody, humor and a satirical mood.
Under the direction and choreography of Fokas Evaggelinos, the talented cast of 35 actors, singers, musicians and dancers, the “dream team” of the Greek music theatre, revives the adventures and the loves of “Mrs. Revue”. The scenario and adapted lyrics are attributed to Aggelos Pyrioxos while musical direction is commanded by Giorgos Katsaros, who combines his revised orchestrations with his own experience of musical direction during that age and genre of Greek theater. The impressive set and over 300 gorgeous costumes were designed by Eva Nathena.
