2012 release,

Music of Manos Loizos for the movie "Evdokia" of Alexis Damianos. Track no 4, known as "Zeimbekiko of Evdokia" is considered to be one of the best and more rhythmic "zeimbekika" ever composed. Many years after the first release of the album, the movie with the legendary music of Loizos, has been nominated as "the best greek movie ever" by the critics and movie reviewers. Enjoy a musical masterpiece from the genius of Manos Loizos.

Evdokia (Ευδοκία) is one of the most important works of Greek cinema. Evdokia is a drama of passion whose main characters are a sergeant and a prostitute who get married after a brief passionate idyll. Very soon, however, the influence of their environment strains their relationship, and the man tries to break away, but without success. The pair are surrounded by harsh light, the rock, the bare landscapes and the military exercises, on the one hand, sensuality and constrictions, on the other. Because of her occupation, Evdokia both attracts and repels the sergeant. The petit bourgeois environment, the lumpen elements, the social fringes and petty interests stifle the young couple, which appears to want to rebel, but doesn't succeed. ( Wikipedia)

You are right, my friend.
"To zeimbekiko tis Evdokias" is a masterpiece!
Zeibekiko is a genuine Greek folk dance and
the name derives from the Greek God Zeus.
It's mainly a solo dance and is offensive to be
interrupted by another dancer.

Manos Loizos was, in my opinion, the most
lyrical Greek composer. I have all his albums.

Thank you for your great post!
