While no one is providing a complete gamerip, I'll be doing my best to supply you guys with the latest and highest quality (I'll try!) music from this game. There will be spoilers, ranging from character and locations, in the title tags. Don't say I didn't warn you. I've decided to ditch uploading the individual tracks as that would take way too long.

So are we at the peak of quality for this type of rip, or is this still ongoing? I love what you've done so far!

I'll take a good listen to this, though I'm not expecting quality. From you, yes, but from the game soundtrack itself in terms of the actual music. The soundtracks of the recent mario games have been...eh.

Eyes on this thread. So far Antasma sounds awesome. Though I seriously don't like that the regular boss theme is overly cheery as usual.

There's only nine songs in here. Are you still working on the rest?

Full Gamerip isn't on YouTube nor are there official tags. Wait for me to beat the game, which I just got.

I'll be monitoring this thread. From what I played of the demo, this game has excellent music. The Dream Battle Theme is so awesome.

this playlist here (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhHcMbVmbwCcX5Jf_dXmdKqjgbgiqX4WJ&feature=addto) has 50+ tracks, which I thought was every song in the game.

one of my friends just recently got this game and said the music was amazing even after just a few minutes of playing it. Not sure why you seem to care little for the music in Nintendo's recent Mario games, theyre pretty good too.

That's a new batch of videos to me, I'd still get better quality if I did a line-in rip myself though.

Actually, the music is great in Mario & Luigi RPG 4, but I don't know about the gameplay, the constant using of stylus somewhat ruined the fun for me, especially that "teasing sleeping Luigi to make something happen" isn't fun in my books, far from it, and that gimmick is way overused also.

Most games have those nowadays, gimmicks that try to be fun but gets annoying after a while...

Of course I can make it sound better. If I rip it from YouTube, that means I have to re-encode the song file around 3 times on top of what's already been done to get it uploaded. If I do it myself, I can provide FLAC and MP3 320kbps with only 1 encoding (the first one).

It may of been, but I'd have to re-encode everything about 3 times; which is a drop in quality. I'd like to provide (for myself and everyone) the highest quality rip possible. Because some people didn't want to do the same, it's taking a while. With my vacation coming up in 5 days, it's probably not going to be out until Late August.

alright cool. strange to me how multiple accounts have the full soundtrack uploaded, when I can't find where any of them downloaded it from (unless they each did their gamerip)

So, apparently after you beat the game, there's a jukebox... are you using that to rip the music?

I'm back from vacation, and I'm currently in the last area of the game. The jukebox is exactly where everyone has been doing their rips and so will I. It's complete, tags and all too. I have some plans tomorrow, but I'm aiming to beat the game by tomorrow (Sunday) night. I'll start recording the tracks on Monday, and we'll see how it goes from there.

I heard there was something about a loop option? No idea what that is, but I'm assuming it has something to do with having them play a certain number of times, like you can set it for 2 loops and it will fade out after 2 loops? Which I assume will eliminate the need for the annoying and time-consuming task of having to manually add fade-outs?

That's brand new information to me, but I'll see when I beat the game. I'm at the final bosses and they make you the gyroscope. Mine was so fucked up and I ended up losing the battle by just going right into lava. God that pisses me off, I'm going to go try again.

So, I thought I'd make a test before I started recording everything; so lemme know what you guys think of this recording of Your Dream Adventure!:

MP3 (http://www.mediafire.com/listen/by63zmtplp9eyem/Your_Dream_Adventure!.mp3)
FLAC (http://www.mediafire.com/download/3tkd4xei551ddud/Your_Dream_Adventure!.flac)

EDIT: Just thought I should share some input beforehand, obviously the version recorded from the website and from the YoL CD are going to sound better as they don't have any compression on them. I personally still think it sounds pretty damn good, but I would like to know if that isn't just me.

Wait, Hold on...
64 KB and 89 KB for an MP3 and FLAC? I think the file is corrupted.

Nevermind.... I just right clicked and saved as, which obviously doesn't work. You have to click the link and click download on the page <_< :P

Anyway, obviously compared to Nintendo's Year of Luigi, it's no where near as good quality...

But that's only because clearly they've remastered it to perfection. I mean, listen to the Mario Kart 64 Rainbow Road theme: Rainbow Road - Mario Kart 64 Music Extended - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2vA6Dngzhs)

And then listen to the Nintendo Sound Selection version: Rainbow Road (Nintendo Sound Selection Remastered) - Mario Kart 64 Music Extended - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkOYMGAxsos)

The point is, while it's not as high quality as an official remastered soundtrack, it's still higher quality than most rips of 3DS games.

In fact, the only way to get a higher quality than this, is for actual rips to be possible.

Anyway, I can't wait for the rest of them.

That's exactly what I meant, good to see that it's pretty good quality. I'll get cracking on the rest once I get back from the errand I have to run.

It's not. It's the entire soundtrack, ordered by "theme" (all the field themes are grouped together, all the battle themes are grouped together, etc.) with official track titles.

It's also a lot more "user friendly". You can pick what song you want to listen to and it has three options for playing music: progress from one song to next on the list after a single loop, loop one song indefinitely (with no fade out), and shuffle. You can switch options in mid-song and it will finish it's current loop before progressing.
It will also continue to play with headphones plugged in even if the system is put into Sleep Mode. Very nice, Alphadream didn't mess this up.
