Ok. I'm sorry if there is already a topic for this. I didn;t see one, and ppl have been yelled at for digging out old topics so...

My little brother sent this to me after a discussion about what language the Hymn of hte fayth was in. I hope some one finds it usefull or interesting.

The Hymn of the fayth Lyrics are just indiviual japanese symbols in no particular order.

I E YU I
NO BO ME NO
RE N MI RI
YO JYU YO GO
HA SA TE KA NA E
KU TA MA E

However, if aligned properly and read from top to bottom, the traditional reading style of Japanese text, then this reads the sentence:

Inoreyo, Hatenaku Ebonju.
Sekae tamae,
Yume miyo, Inorigo

...which translates to:

Pray now, for Yu Yevon,
who will not go away.
For the sake of prosperity,
Dream now, the Fayths of Yevon.

The original Hymn of the Fayth would have a different translation because it was originally sung by the people of Zanarkand in rebellion against Bevelle and then by the Al Bhed in rebellion against Yevon. Since all Yevon could do was listen, he lifted the ban on the song by his people and everyone began to sing it. Soon when the rebels were sent to the desert, it became the Hymn of the Fayth, and I guess the way it was sung was changed. But it's interesting to know what it translates to all the same.

Yes, we see the other thread. Don't go into one thread and ask people to reply to another one, that's just.... not good.

Why not good? I literally joined this site 10mins ago to ask the question in my thread.

Sorry if i crossed some kind of line.....

I'll explain why it's not good: it's considered bad manners to post in a thread simply to solicit people to go check out some other thread. Post your opinion or comment on the thread topic and then maybe you can get away with advertising another thread.
