"And now...heeeere's Johnny!"

If you haven't caught the PBS American Masters special about Johnny Carson I highly recommend it! This guy was (IS) a true American icon. The documentary is highly enjoyable and made me realize just how much I miss being able to turn the old Tonight Show on and catch Karnak or Art Fern or Ed's 'Hi-yooooo!' (or Carol Wayne for that matter).

According to the show; Carson's first ten years worth of shows were accidentally erased by an NBC technician. The good news is most of the material on this album is from that 'lost' era and there's some GREAT stuff here!

Thx for the headsup about the documentary and for this gem!! For me Johnny Carson and Walter Cronkite were the comfort food elements that graced my grandparents' living room on their PHILCO Color TV! Growing up we spent many nights at my grandparents' place, allowed to stay up late and fall asleep on the living room sofa bed while watching The Tonight Show. The 90 minute format in the 60s and 70s catered to wide-awake insomniacs like my poppop and I :). Thanks for taking me back!!!!

I seem to be having issues with the 'Captcha' on link 1 & 2. There is no Captcha to solve. I click on to reload the page but that's still not giving me the Captcha to solve. Help!

Is anybody else having this problem? I can't get either link....It keeps coming up 'error please click here to reload the page.' Nothing is working. :/

Just use internet explorer and it'll work. I was using chrome and the 2nd link captcha was misbehaving but with internet explorer the problem goes away. Hope this helps!
