Buddy: Doesn't look like there's any gil to be made here. Everyone's all worked up over some sort of sphere-breaking contest.
Shinra: That's Sphere Break. You should enter. The grand prize is a dressphere.

Join the club: who else loves this game? Here's some cool stuff I only just discovered on my most recent playthrough:

- You can start playing as early as Chapter 2.

- In Chapter 5, there are a couple of really strong players that make Shinra look lame.

- You can get cool coins that let you win other cool coins or even rare items.

Sphere break is awesome. First time i tried the tourney i won it easily. It's a shame that it's all Math based, but luckily, i can add!

I love the character coins. The guy in Chapter 5 with the Bevelle core sphere has all of the character coins, including the amazing ???? coin. The pirrrrate guy is rrrrrreally fun to play too.

Here are some other fun things I discovered:

- Even if you don't win, you can still come out ahead if you win more stock in your coins or new coins during the game.

- You can win neat Rare Items - although most of them you can admittedly get in other ways.

I just like owning random people by using tonnes of echos and getting like, 70 coins in 15 turns...easy stuff. Haven't played it much in chapter 5 though.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">I beat everyone in the left-hand corridor (which is supposedly the harder players) and probably everyone in the right-hand room at one point (although I didn't bother keeping track of who I had and hadn't played there).

Are you supposed to get any rewards for winning, or do you just need to win coins from people whilst you're playing? I never got anything out of beating people as I'd have hoped, but oh well. I didn't feel like playing it enough to get all the types of coins though...

Hey, there, Meltigemini! It's been a while. Posting on overtime to make up for it, eh?

Regarding rewards, rewards are entirely dependent on your entry coins. For example, if you use an entry coin with the "Rare Item" attribute during the game, then you can win rare items for selecting certain border coins that also contain that trait. And similarly, you can win coins or rare coins by selecting entry coins with those traits. Experiment with various entry traits to win all sorts of cool stuff. P.S.: If you use the Item or Rare Item traits with Shinra or the lady's dog, you can get Garment Grids, if you haven't gotten them already.

I have almost all of the coins now, but there's still three or four I'm missing and a few others that I have, but don't have any stock in. I have all the character coins.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Yeah something like that. Great to be back. :D

Yeah, I was starting to assume you only got rewards out of this game by having the item command on coins... but I just liked sticking with the entry coins I got used to because I won every time with the numbers... maybe some time I should actually try out the many coins I've dug up in the desert. ;)

I got the Treasure Hunt garment grid from Shinra... what do you get from the dog? I can't remember if I got one from her or not, so I'd have to just check my list of GG's.

Yeah, definitely experiment with those desert coins. You can still win easily, in fact many of them have the same numbers, and by adding in abilities like Multiplier Echo and Quota multipliers, it'll be even easier. The best coins you can get actually come from playing the game, so try using some entry coins with the Coin or Rare Coin attribute to really rake in the coins.

You get White Signet from the dog. Just make sure to play an entry coin that has the Item trait and then make breaks with border coins with that trait during the game and you should eventually get it.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Great, I'll use more of the coins I dig up in my next game then.

And I do already have White Signet, in fact I used it for quite a long time, I just didn't remember where I'd got that from. Thanks though. :)
