"Bring Your New Best Friends, Ben & Jerry and Let's Turn Your Ass Into A Helipad"



Mickey Gordon (Billy Crystal) is a basketball referee who travels to France to bury his father. Ellen Andrews (Debra Winger) is an American living in Paris who works for the airline he flies on. They meet and fall in love, but their relationship goes through many difficult patches. The story is told in flashback by their friends at a restaurant waiting for them to arrive.

For all of you Billy Crystal fans, here's another soundtrack you might enjoy.
Forget Paris contains memorable tracks such as Billie Holiday's "Love Is Here To Stay", "For All We Know" and
multiple versions of "April In Paris" by Gene Kelly and Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong.

But the real star of this soundtrack is Mark Shaiman.
As in "When Harry Met Sally", Shaiman melds soft piano music with violins to produce an underlying motif of "When You Love Someone" all through the film.

Since most of the music was obscured by dialogue, special vocal removal software was used to extract this splendid music. Debra Winger's voice was extremely difficult to remove and as such you may hear intermittent squaks.
But on a whole you may find this soundtrack enjoyable.

Track #13 is an unknown Country tune that I believe is called "Lucky Me, Lucky You", but I have not been able to identify. If you recognize this tune, let me know.

Rounding out the soundtrack is the vocal version of "When You Love Someone" by Anita Baker & James Ingram.
