Note: this is the 2009 Mercury Records digital remaster from the original 1973 recordings. Fans will recognize the introduction of this work as a featured cue in the 1973 classic "The Exorcist" soundtrack but very few I've come to realize knew that the piece went on for much longer and takes some very interesting mood shifts, throwing guitars and groovy electronics into the mix in a way that can only come out of the 70's. It went on to be an international hit and has spawned many repeat performances and DVDs, albeit re-recorded and remixed into 5.1 that surprisingly I did not like. This however is the original (and superior, in my opinion) recording as audiences in 1973 may have heard it.

This album does go in some very eclectic directions so selling this to one particular crowd is no easy task, especially in track 2 which is even further of a departure from the intro than the rest of track 1. I don't particularly understand this work but it is very interesting so I hope you all enjoy!

Agree, the 5.1 mix was way wrong - should have been soothing and mesmerizing, not look at me, I'm playing with a mixing desk!
