I doubt anyone else thinks this but I really liked the idea of Rikku and Gippal hooking up. They were somewhat alike in personality and they were of the same race! Well, race doesn't really matter but I just liked the way they kinda flirted in the game. I secretly hoped and thought they would get together cuz Rikku needs sumbody, too! Gippal was really cute and I think they kinda liked eachother. Anyone else agree? ::Ignores distant cricket chirping::...slightly agree? Hmmm?

I believe you're right since I felt that, too. At the Djose Temple Gippal says something about how they were "quite the couple" back then or something. Rikku denies it but I think there was some truth in what Gippal said.

I don't really know about Rikku and Gippal, But ever since I played FFX for the first time, I was kinda hoping that Tidus would end up with Rikku. They have so much in common and they are both energetic and perky. I think that they would make a great couple. What do you think?

I have to agree with Dragon Lee. I thought that Tidus and Riku would hit off but then when I got to the Island of Besaid and Wakka starts talking to Tidus about Yuna at the campfire thing. I was like: "Well, there goes that idea."

I like the idea about Gippal and Riku but I would have liked to see a "what if" thing with Riku and Tidus.
Just a thought. IF Tidus fell for Riku what would have happened to Yuna? Do you think she would of remained the way she was like in th first game, just the quiet summoner? Do you think she would have sacrificed herself for Spira? I mean she wouldn't have had a "special" someone to fight for her.

Yuna_Rinoa makes a good point. If Tidus and yuna never fell for each other, yuna would end up sacrificing her life to summon the final aeon at the end of FFX. There are also consequences to this. Sin would still be alive as one of Yuna's guardians (If you don't remember, in order to summon the final summoning, Yuna would have to sacrifice another person to be the final aeon) and spira's "Spiral of Death" would have never been broken.

It's interesting: would she still have sacrificed heself? It seems to me like even without Tidus, she was never too keen on the whole "false hope" thing anyway. So I think there's a chance that even without Tidus, she might have gone bad-ass on Yunalesca anyway once she found out that under the old system, Sin could never be truly defeated.

I wonder, though...do any of you guys wish that would've happened? Maybe so that Tidus could've been with someone else? FFX would probably have lost it's essence right then and there, though....

Rikku and Gippal because I think they've known each other for a long time and they get along really well. Also I remember in the last chapter, where you chase the moogle to near the docks in Luca, Rikku said that she felt the same as Yuna and liked someone as well but wouldn't say who it is. I think Rikku and Gippal should get together, they're way too alike and with that much raw-bouncy-golucky-energy between them, imagine the s*ahem*sex. The conversations in the game did indicate that they were an "item" at one point, but I can't say there was indicated one way or another whether they did it, as far as I know. Honestly, I sure hope they didn't. They both would have been kind of young.

Maybe he cheated. Or they just wanted to be friends for a while. Or maybe they thought they were going to be too busy so they split. Or it could be the fact that when Rikku decided to be Yuna's guardian that she broke up with Gippal since it was possible that she could die. And maybe he got another girlfriend while she was gone. :confused: Personally, I still think they got a thing for each other and that they should get back together.
