What was the most money you have spent on a game and/or system? Controllers, headsets, add-ons, and other accessories can count too.

Most I've spent on a new game is The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask at $150. The main reason I spent so much on a new factory sealed copy, is because I really wanted to have the original box with it, so I can display it on my shelf, (which I'm doing now) and since it's one of my favorite games ever, and I didn't like how the Gamecube version wasn't properly emulated.

Most on a used game is Metroid Prime Trilogy at $70. This was one of those impulse buys where I thought, "If I don't buy this now, I will never see it again." So I bought it. I usually go the the media and game stores twice a week, and I have never seen it since. This was also way before I knew about Amazon, so I don't know if it's cheaper there, but I already have it so...

Most I've paid for a new system is the Wii U at $350. I bought it the 1st day it came out. I didn't camp out or anything, I just called Gamestop, and Walmart which had 2 deluxe ones left, so I went there and got it. I got the deluxe one since it game with Nintendo Land (which is $60 by itself) and a bunch of accessories and more memory than the white one and it doesn't come with the game and some of the accessories and was $300. So I thought the deluxe was a good deal.

I have actually never bought a used system before. I'm surprised I haven't, since I usually buy used games. Unless it's one that I really want of course, then I can't wait for a used copy.

EDIT: If you're a PC gamer, PCs can count too. Me personally, am not counting mine since I'm not much of a PC gamer.

Well, the most I've paid for a console was the PS2 which cost $299.99 around launch. Bought it at K-Mart through layaway.

Also purchased my N3DS around launch at $249.99.

And the most expensive game I've paid for was Last Window: The Secret of Cape West which cost $47.50 new. It was an import from the UK as it's not available in the US. Purchased it soon after it was released. Of course now you can get it for around $15. It was so worth it though.

Game: The only times I spent a lot of money on games is when I bought multiple games at once. When I first got 360 (which came with Halo 3), I bought Fallout 3 and Assassin's Creed cause I had the money to and felt that with more games, I wouldn't be able to beat one game so soon.

System: My PC lol

The Wii U is the only system I've bought on launch day. I was thinking about the 3DS too, but there wasn't really any games that appealed to me at the time. I got it when the price went down to $170.

And there are a ton of PCs out there... prices please. :P

I actually didn't buy any games with my N3DS. My DS had seen better days and I still had a few titles which required the L and R buttons so I purchased it so I could play those games till something good came out for the handheld.

For me, the most expensive I bought was the 3DS on launch day. Good thing I got it if it wasn't for that Ambassador program so that I won't get those free downloads.

The most expensive game I bought was Ibara for the Playstation 2. Bought it used for $130.

I think the most I spent on game was for Zelda Ocarina of Time, it was like $70 at BestBuy in 1998. Does that sound right?

Most on a System would probably $200 for the Gamecube.

The most expensive I bought is the PS3 Phat 80GB from Gamestop, I think the cost is like $200 back in 2010, in the new condition.

Just recently bought Tales of Xillia Limited Edition for the PS3 $59.99 at my local game store. I was thinking that was worth buying it, over the standard version, I guess I was lucky that sells the few copies over there. Same goes for Deus Ex: Human Revolution back in 2011 at Gamestop. Also, I bought Final Fantasy 13 (PS3) (Pre-owned) in 2010, I think for $54.99 is my second expensive purchase from Gamestop as well.

I'm a bit of a penny pincher - I don't think I've ever paid much more than 45 quid for any game. Maybe a bit more than that (N64 games were around 50 quid or so, if I remember - long time ago now).

But yeah, I don't go in for special editions or any of that business and I usually always wait for consoles to drop a bit in price too. Takes a lot to part me from my cash!

Must've been PS2 when it was completely new - and also Nintendo 64.

Didn't buy a 3DS until this week, and I paid about 1万9000円 for it - not too bad compared to what it cost during release.

Might purchase a PS4 when it comes, though.. so there's that.

My most expensive console was the good ol'phat PS3 for about 500$. However, it wasn't THE priciest game system (in broad sense) that I bought. This title goes to my PC - for 2500$ (Core i7 950, nVidia GTX 580). As for the game, that would be GT5 Collector's Edition (not to be confused with the Signature Edition). I wanted to buy Ni no Kuni's Collector Edition with a cute Drippy plushie and cool-looking "Wizard's Companion" book but the price wasn't right (pun intended ;)).

With adjusted inflation, that's over $1000 in today's value.

Shit is so expansive.

PS3 for $270.

PS2 and 3DS second place at $200.

I bought a laptop for $1000 but that doesn't count because it wasn't for gaming.

Most expensive game I bought was Disgaea D2 collector's edition at $85. This is the only collector's edition I've ever bought.

Most expensive regular games: Skyrim Legendary Edition and Grand Theft Auto V at $60.

Most expensive used game: Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube at $45.

I really want to play the game Rule of Rose for the PS2, but it's $100 USED. Gahh...

I remember the launch price was $599 I think, which is crazy for a game console, but at the time, it was a steal compared to normal blu-ray players.
