I'm not really asking for "Anything I saw in 1993" type answers. Based on my answer, you'll see what I'm asking for. And put one tv show and/or movie per post so the posts aren't too long to read.

Movie: Dennis The Menace (1993) because it reminds me of the kind of movies I always used to watch during my younger years. My favorite actor as a youngster (Christopher Llyod) is also in it so that's why too LOL.

TV show: MMPR because when I was a kid, I was hooked on this fro ma live-action perspective. Watching back makes me remember how the next day in school, the entire class was talking about how they can't wait to go home to watch it. I remember how easy it was to identify who each of the Rangers were because when they weren't in costume, they were wearing a shirt that had their Ranger color. Since its geared towards kids, it makes sense that they would do that. Too bad the budget for the show wasn't too high, which is the reason for all the many re-shots. But since its a kids show, I doubt that matters anyway.

Movie: (big surprise) The Lion King - I was 2 when this movie came out and is the first movie I remember watching, and my parents told me I would watch it multiple times on a daily basis. We sold all of our VHS tapes including this one 11 years ago at a yard sale. I've bought it on blu-ray when it first came out for obvious reasons. Now I'm 21, and I don't watch it "on a daily basis" but I still watch it once or twice a month. Still my favorite movie ever.

Well just for the sake of naming one title per post specifically, you could post one title during each post till you have them all. You seemed to look forward to the Taz-Mania and Beetlejuice DVD's so they'd be a good start. TMNT 1987 and Batman TAS would be great too along with Transformers. I mean, who didn't watch this stuff all the time when they were younger?

I guess I did give a little too big of a list. :P Even though I love Taz-Mania as much as I do, Dexter's Laboratory is probably the most nostalgic to me. The episode I remember the most, is when Dexter's mom beats up that woman over the last pair of latex gloves lol.

But I definitely see where you're coming from as I've seen a ton of stuff so its tough to narrow it down to one. But that's why I said one per post so you can name another one on another post and so on so that way each post has something specific without the post being too long of a read. I mean, look how short each post so far as and imagine how bigger it'd be if more than one thing was posted along with the reasons for bringing nostalgic value. Whenever I get the freedom to write, I'll go all out and end up having such a long length, people term it as a "novel."

Okay so adding another name to the list of nostalgic value.....TMNT 1987 (seasons 1-5 only) because those are my favorite seasons, but I originally stopped watching after season 7. From Season 8, the show went in a completely different directions becoming darker. I remember how thinking the TMNT looked so mean and angry during the intro which made me see it as a whole different show due to all its changes even though it was really the same show with many changes. This is still, to me, the best TMNT incarnation in the media aside from the comics and Turtles In Time.

i was most impressed (and still am) by fonda in that movie, to me, he somehow was like some kind of gandhi in that role.

Two that come to mind are Ghostbusters II and An American Tail.

I was only five years old when I saw Ghostbusters II but I distinctly remember being super psyched after I saw it in the theaters. I dressed up as one for Halloween that year. Had the toy proton pack and everything.

And I remember watching An American Tail a lot when I was younger. It's kind of vague but that movie has always reminded me of my childhood the most.

There are others like Super Mario Bros and Return to Oz.


And as for tv shows I would say Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Batman the Animated Series, Talespin, Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers, Beakman's World, Ghostwriter, Goosebumps, Gargoyles, The Tick, Dinosaurs just to name a few.

I remember watching Darkwing Duck most mornings before school and Batman when I came home. Also The Simpsons. I grew up on Simpsons syndication.

Labyrinth was awesome. Just saw it recently actually, Jennifer Connelly's been in two movies that I like - Labyrinth and Dark City, I think her best role to date, at least between these two movies was Labyrinth.

When I was young, I used to watch either Close Encounters of the Third Kind or Star Trek II every day when I got home from school. Yeah, I was a pretty strange kid. . . .

I also was blessed to grow up as a member of the Glen Larson generation, watching (and loving) first-run shows like Battlestar Galactica (the original, of course), Buck Rogers, The Fall Guy, Knight Rider, and the like. I was fortunate to catch them at just the right age—old enough to follow what was going on, and too young yet to see the schlock of it all. TV was more fun, and better escapism, back in those days.

Phenomenal film. One of my favorite stories . . . and I even got to play Fonda's role (Juror #8) on stage, which was a dream come true.

I would too. It is licensing issues. But more specifically, music licensing issues as the show used a lot of licensed music. This was confirmed by the actress who played Winnie. You can view the clip on youtube if its still there if you want. I think the opening theme was a licensed song too? All the involved parties know the high demand that this show has for being released so my conscious tells me someday, we'll get one. I just hope there's worthy extras like interviews with the cast and such.

I find the animation of Ed, Edd, n' Eddy similar to Billy And Mandy/The Grim Adventures and Ren & Stimpy. But that could just be me though.

Another show.....the 90s Nick - Are You Afraid Of The Dark, All That, Doug, Rocket Power, Hey Arnold, Rugrats. Secret World Of Alex Mack, etc. I was watching those shows religiously.

Watching Friends really has a very nostalgic value for me. I remember my college days whenever i see it. The fun we use to have with friends and all the wild things we did are just reminded by watching this TV show. I just love it.

I guess some more nostalgic movies besides The Lion King for me are Ace Ventura (both movies) and Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. You know, the one with the 2 dogs and the cat that go a long way to return to their owners? Yeah that one. I need to watch it again.

I did not know that... :( I guess that's why he didn't voice him in the 2nd one. I also didn't know he was from Wisconsin. I was born and raised here.

I didn't like When Nature Calls that much. Pet Detective....much, much better.

Sucks that Don died. I remember reading about that around the movie's release. One of my favorite movies and even though it sucks Don wasn't around to work on any other material, at least he was able to end it with a film like Homeward Bound.

I agree. The last move makes me sad at times. The first was, is, and always will be the best. And without the first, there would be no second or third.

There was this tv show "LOTTERY" that ran during the 1983-84 season it only lasted 17 episodes. I don't remember much about it but I remember I loved it!

as for movies "RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK" funny we saw it first at a drive in and I remember fighting my parents I didn't want to go because I thought it looked dumb....how stupid was I?

When my father and I went to see "EMPIRE STRIKES BACK" we waited in a line that stretched around the theater and after we bought our tickets the manager said "those will be the last two"

When I was growing up that is something my father and I did at least once a week, we went to see movies and hang out.
