First of all, thank you for uploading this.

However, this is just such a sincere disappointment for me. There is some very nice orchestration here, but it is just strangled by some absolutely godawful electronics. Might as well not even go through the trouble of recording an orchestra if you are just going to have nothing by synth.

I'm afraid the .zip file's contents are the enclosure soundtrack that comes with the Collector's and Ultimate Edition of the game, not the retail copy; this probably came out of an honest mistake in the packing process (i.e. choosing this folder and not that)...

This is exactly what it's supposed to be, the bonus CD for those who bought an expensive limited edition of the video game. It is a bit different (a few tracks differ) from the only other version available at the moment, a download version. The good news is that there will be a CD release (2 CDs) by Bear McCreary's own new record company 'Sparks and Shadows'. For those who like it (it's too electronic for me) that should be the best solution.

Thanks for the heads-up. I went directly to source (http://www.bearmccreary.com/#blog/albums/sparks-shadows/); from reading that, I infer that this release, as well as the upcoming limited edition, are for the associated TV series; it'll be interesting to see how it compares to the game suondtrack.

just posted the 24-track soundtrack. so now everyone has both until the 2-cd defiance show soundtrack comes out. 8-D

supposedly they are going to release a 2-cd soundtrack most likely for the show, but will have to wait a bit until it gets further into the season.
