Not really. I don't see what the point would be in doing that much training that early in the game. That section isn't even particularly fun as compared with some of the other sections if you ask me.

You two (Teknori and MogKnight) are easily the two greatest people I've ever encountered. I can't think of anything that I'd be more proud of than those feats. A couple friends and I are going to set up three TVs next to one another later this year, bet large sums of money, and race through FFVII, but I don't expect any of us to break 20 hours. I don't know how 12 hours is possible.

3 questions:

1. Is that you MK in the screen?(i doubt it)
2.U-turn they are not going to remake the game with better graphics (sorry that was an answer not a question)
3.i was wondering what the point of the middle file is on the screen, because i can see nothing important on it?

I Beat down:
1.Ultima weapon
2.Emerald weapon
3.Ruby weapon
4.Beat the game

I don't care about time. I got Master Command, Master Summon, and Master Magic for beating Emerald weapon. I got W-Summon, Knights of Round, Quadra Magic, all the Summons, Mime, went to all materia caves, got all Level 4 limit breaks, and all of the Ultimate Weapons. I got all HP and MP maxed out. Ended the game with at least 2 million gil from fighting alot to max out Knights of Round, to beat the weapons.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Actually since then, somoene else at FFWA managed to beat Martin's time (they got 10:51 or something like that, it was quite a while ago now). Some poeple don't believe him though, but Martin's proof definitely is there. ;)

Anyway someone else said they got to level 99 in the train graveyard, and one of my friends said he got to level 99 in the first reactor once. I really don't think I should believe that though, because that would just take far too long. :eye:

As for me, I don't really consider levelling up to be "good", in fact playing at lower levels I found to be much more fun; on my last playthrough I only got EXP from boss fights and ran from random encounters, completing the game at level 44 (I gained 5-6 levels from Jenova-Synthesis alone). But for full completion's sake, I just consider doing all the sidequests enough. I'd stat-max too, but morphing got far too boring for me.

I still have my screenshot showing my 7:07:10 in the Northern Cave, but I fully admit that the clock on my PC game runs slow. If those times were on the PC version, then that's probably how they got it too. If it was on the Playstation though, then I guess they're just really good.

started a new file recently, going for 99:59 in the first reactor, so far, not going too well, but it'll happen, just you wait. and by the way, i dont just level up at the beginning, i go through the game afterwards, and make sure i do everything with extreme perfection, its what me and my friends have called(and been calling for a while) "The Master File"...a few of my friends do it too, but no one is willing to beat my records...theres only one thing that i havent done in FF7 and that is get Aeris's umbrella paracel thingy at gold saucer, its so hard, i worked at it for hours and hours, and i cant get it. anyone have good tips for me?

Meltigemini
04-26-2004, 07:56 PM
<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Both of those times were set with the PSX version.

Hmm, the rollercoaster game. At my best I was quite easily scoring over 8000 points on that, but even now I can still beat 5000 quite convincingly, and that's how much you need for the Umbrella...

I'd say the most important thing is to learn the course, really. Eventually you'll start to learn where things are going to appear, and you can point your gun at them before they show up on screen and be prepared for them. The other main thing is to NEVER let the gun run low on power, because then you'll struggle to destroy most targets. Always fire in short bursts and give it time to recharge.

Look out for things in the background that can be shot. In the first section there are a few cacti, and right at the end of the course one of the lights on the left can also be destroyed (this is the only time you should hold down fire as there are no more targets after this).

The icicle section is a good place to get lots of points quickly, but here it's still really important not to over-fire. Destroy as many icicles as you can whilst keeping the gun charged, and you'll be able to shoot the floating things quite easily too.

The UFO near the end can be destroyed, and again you need to fire in short quick bursts, and you'll get 1000 points for that.

Are you playing on PSX or PC? I've tried both and found it infinitely harder on PC, so unlucky if that's the case. :(

Teknori

I remember early on I thought 3000 points was an achievement, but now I'm disappointed if I score under 5000. Agent0042
05-01-2004, 06:01 PM
Well, I suppose it kinda relates, since you are trying to make yourself really good.

The requirements are the same as any other character. You have to learn all of his earlier limit breaks and then apply his 4/1 Highwind limit manual. You find the Highwind manual in the crashed Gelnika under the ocean, which you navigate to using the sub.

Lord Vincent
05-02-2004, 02:48 PM

There is a quirk in the game where sometimes you can learn limits before you're supposed to and then you end up with some of the later limits without having some of the earlier ones. Check in the menu and make sure that you've learned all of the earlier ones: 1/1, 1/2, 2/1, 2/2, 3/1 and 3/2.

Uh, two things:

a.) Who are you talking to?

b.) That's not how you spell "Nibelheim" either, so I must say, I find it rather ironic and hilarious that would correct someone's spelling of it and you don't even know how to spell it yourself.

hb smokey
05-02-2004, 10:29 PM
I was talking to Lord Vincent

And I spelled it Neibelhiem because that is how he spelled it. Because if I put that he spelled Nibelheim wrong, that would be kind of innacurate because you can't spell Nibelheim wrong if you spell it like Nibelheim.

Okay people.... let me lay down what I think: I don't consider speed to be good with as slow as I am. I'm a slow person, so does that mean I suck at the game just because I don't beat the game withen 11 hours? Okay, you know you're good at Final Fantasies when you can beat all of the monsters in the game. If you try to get to the end of the game more quikley, you have to sacrafice doing any of the sidequests. To me, doing most of the sidequests is a pro! If you beat all four of the WEAPON monsters, that's a very big deal! Not many people can beat Ruby and Emerald weapons. That's considered the games greatest challenge! Leveling up to 99 is too good becuase that takes a long time! Doing and finding out everthing in the game is the best you could be at.

For those who could beat the game in 11 hours, good for you! You're good at speed, but its impossible to do that and get everything at the same time! And I won't believe anyone who will say they did that! You'd have to be smarter than Albert Einstein to do that! Sidequests are considered good! You can't argue that! If someone does the biggest sidequest beating all of the weapon monsters, you have to givem' credit. That means you've mastered the game! Haste makes Waste!

Cloud13
05-12-2004, 02:12 PM
yes, but speed proves mastery, if done correctly... lets say, you did ALL of the sidequests, AND ALL people are @ lv. 99!!! then if it were a contest, the person who did all of that AND had the lowest time would win!!! say you could get 99% completion (i know there's no meter for it like in other games but shutup) and you only clocked in 30 something hours!!! huh? how bout that???

Dot Centaur
05-12-2004, 09:53 PM
Yes, but like I said, you'd have to be a genius to do that. I've got a few learning disabilities so I'm slower than others. I mean, for somenone as stupid as I am, you have to give me credit for doing almost everything. I'm stupid, so there's no way to do all the in even 40 hours.:-X

Agent0042
05-12-2004, 11:13 PM
Hey, TifaGirl - don't worry about all this stuff if you don't want to. Those of us that do this stuff are hardcore. That's actually secret little code that really means "crazy." So for not doing this stuff and not wanting to do it, you're probably actually more sane than those of us that would do it.

Dot Centaur
05-12-2004, 11:43 PM
Thank you Agent 0042! To me speed isn't everything in a game. I may try it if you'd get something good like a good weapon or whatever, like how you can get Steiner Ultimate weapon in FF9, but it usually means missing out on all of the other sidequests too. I like doing most sidequests becuase thats the fun part in games, finding out all the secrets! As for trying to get everything in the game, that is very time consuming. I always have to breed chocobos to get KOR summon, to beat Emerald weapon, time consuming, yes. Thanks again Agent 0042, you made me feel more better:D :D!
