Oh, hell. . . ! What a blast from the past. It does not get much more 80s synth-pop, teeny-bop, faux-inspirational schmaltzy than this film here. And now I suppose I'll have to come clean and confess that I loved this movie when I was a teenager, too. It was like my own personal Rocky. (Didn't hurt that Janet Jones was smokin' hot. She thought the same about me, but—well, sometimes these things just don't work out, y'know?)

I used to have the soundtrack with the singles from the film, but I've never given the score itself a listen. Guess it's time to change that. Thanks for the share, and the (somewhat embarrassing) trip to yesteryear.

Oh I see it's about the typo/grammar thing? I'm surprised I thought this kind are already extinct on this side of the earth?

Gotta update my commentary here. Though (as I said) I was into the movie back in the 80s, I haven't seen it since then—nor have I given the music a second thought. Now that I've listened to it, I can say . . . for a predictable and schmaltzy film, Silvestri's score is surprisingly earnest and sincere. There's a lot of heart to this music, and a fair amount of inspiration too. The synthesized material is reminiscent of—and is on par with—Vince DiCola's epic Rocky IV, but there's some well-orchestrated symphonic stuff here as well.

This is an overlooked gem from Silvestri's repertoire, coming only a year after Back to the Future. Any fan of Alan should pick this one up immediately.

I remember seeing this film on cable back in the 80's and barely liking it (Rocky in a gymnastics competition right down to the palooka star) but liking the musical score very much. (The best thing about the film I remember was this smoking hot brunette gymnast, a REAL gymnast in a supporting role.) I was very disappointed when I blindly purchased the soundtrack and there was maybe two tracks of the score on it. It wasn't until the rise of the internet and music sharing that I found this score in the late 90's. I no longer have it so it's great to re-acquire once again. I remember some great orchestral passages here and it really shows Silvestri's range and is a nice change from his action stuff.

Does anyone by any chance know what music plays from about 6:00 - 7:00 minutes into the film? It sounds like an alternate version of The Kiss but I can't tell for sure. Any help would be greatly appreciate as I've been after this piece for awhile. Thanks again for this excellent upload!
