「餓狼伝説」ザ・モーションピクチャー BGM コレクション
(Garou Densetsu [Fatal Fury] The Motion Picture BGM Collection)
Music by: 佐橋俊彦 (Toshihiko Sahashi)
Release date: 21 Jan 1995

Product ID: KICA-227
FLAC / LOG / CUE

On an old friend HDD, I found an BIN/CUE iso image file made from the retail CD around 1998-1999 (RIP was made with full SCSI [hard drives and CD-R units] audio professional computer on Windows NT, the best components and OS from this era).
Here are FLAC files made from this image file accurate RIP with the excellent XLD software (MacOSX equivalent –and better– to EAC for Windows).
All files are properly tagged in Japanese to match exactly with original inlet tracklistings.
CUE and LOG files are coded in Unicode (UTF-8) because of Japanese and special typography.

Many many thanks indeed!

If I'm understanding correctly, though, this is a fifteen year-old rip made with the attendant technology and ripping software of that era - ie, atrocious... ripping from an image file tells you nothing except that the image file was parsed accurately and makes no commentary whatsoever on the standard of the original rip... so including a LOG here is rather misleading...

This is not a complaint; merely an observation. This CD isn't exactly easy to come by, and to have it in FLAC is downright miraculous... but at the same time, I don't think we should be under any illusions here. In 1998, there was no such thing as accurate rip. In the Windows 95 era, you were just lucky to be able to play a CD on your computer... anything beyond that was a bonus - ripping included...

Ha, tangotreats, "the king of complaints".;)

You're wrong on one thing. In 1998-1999, we could make very good CD RIPs with the good computer components and softwares.
This BIN/CUE image was made with the best computer components and system from this era. It was around the end of 1998 and the beginning of 1999. The thing I remember well, that is was made on a audio professional computer in full SCSI (HDD and CD drives), not with a crappy ATA (IDE) controller. System was Windows NT (with the last service pack from this period), Adaptec SCSI adaptor cards, WD SCSI hard drives and the best CD-Recordeable unit from this era, a Plextor SCSI CD-R drive. The rip was made with CDRWIN (the best BIN/CUE ripping software in 1999) with all ripping options for audio.
We made some CD-R burns from this image file without any loss, audio comparison was made at my uncle professional studio (my uncle is an audio recording and mastering engineer).
Recently, on my (very expensive) audiophile system, I compared my freshly made FLAC files with some other MP3 RIPs available in this forum and my FLAC file are sonically better than the mp3s.
So, I can guaranty you this BIN/CUE file is fully reliable as the retail CD might be.

I edited the main post with some technical precisions about the RIP was made.
