As i'm slowly discovering the FF soundtracks, i'd like to have your opinion on what are the most emotional themes you've heard (instrumental / piano) ?

Here are some of my personal favorites (in no particular order) :

Keep in mind that from a musical standpoint they might not be the best, after all I'm a bit biased from having played those game and having good memories associated with those songs.

Lately, it's this sad and haunting theme from FFXIV (original version):

The actual title for it is unknown sadly, but it known that it was composed by Nobuo Uematsu (amongst other things it played when the player selected their Path Companion during the main scenario of the game). And given the fact FFXIV has been shutdown, I can't help but feel sad when I hear this. :(

EDIT: it's called Piece of Mind (sic) and it's track number 43 on the Before Meteor: FFXIV OST album.

My two absolute favourites are To Zanarkand (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKyvAjoIvAI) from FFX and The Last Travel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5w0iCWmm3hI)from XIII-2. I think they're both beautiful, sad songs.

13-2 has a lot of songs that resonate with me.

Final Fantasy IV OST Lunar Whale ~ Flight Theme 2 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtB-nYtpa-c) lunar whale ff4.One of my favorite of all time flying machine themes, if not my favorite.Always got me excited as a kid, like i was embarking on an epic adventure to the moon.
