Well, now that this has been leaked here, I think it's safe to say that I've already had this score for quite some time after many pleas and finally purchasing it from a good friend here. I understood the extreme rarity of this incredible complete score by Danny Elfman which is why I did whatever I could to at least obtain it for myself, being a HUGE Hulk fan and searching for this score for ages - It was #1 on my list.

So, am I happy that this score was finally made available to all the other eager fans in the world searching for any complete release of this? Of course I am. This is one of Danny Elfman's holy grails (IMO) that never saw a proper release and didn't look like it would. Am I disappointed that it got leaked? Yes too. Again, I understood the level of secrecy this complete score was under and the negative effects it may have on the original owners if they shared it. Some may be very consequential and could effect the sharing of future rare scores. That is why I kept my promise to this user and never shared any info about these sessions.

Apparently, some others who also already had the score were doing trades for other rare sessions (in which several have contacted me to offer it, cause they knew my great interest for this one) I don't have any rare scores that you guys don't, so I had to deny the offers. So, who ever got a hold of it from someone else, shared it with others that couldn't handle keeping it a seceret. Naturally, I would share any score if I had permission to, but I could not with this one.

I'm sorry everyone, and most of all, I'm sorry to the user that shared it with me who may get in trouble for this. Just know that it wasn't your fault or mine.

To hopefully end on a good note, I hope everyone is enjoying this highly underrated masterpiece as much as I still do. Also, great custom covers guys.

Why the hell does t say bong hit in the track list?

Why the hell does t say bong hit in the track list?

Out of every score I own, this is the one I had the hardest holding back on because I have a long drawn out history with this score and the movie itself doesn't even factor into that. I honestly only knew the main titles because I used it as temp score for one of my student films. I was interested in enjoying the rest and with the album being a little under an hour (excluding the song Set Me Free), I decided to give it a try out. Even though I hated the movie in theatres and on DVD, I liked Danny Elfman so naturally, I liked the score. A complete release never crossed my mind but now that it has crossed my path, I've developed an entirely new appreciation for it. I did get permission from my source's source hence my leaking it. No complete Danny Elfman album should be kept from the world so I imagine I felt about as excited once I got the permission to post it as you all were to get it. I just want it to be known that I don't intend to leak anything else so please, no requests. I don't have Inception or Titanic (and apparently nobody does now) just to be in the clear on that. Anyway, I hope you're all enjoying this under-appreciated Elfman masterpiece.

This is an excellent score. A very different approach to the superhero genre that unfortunately didn't catch up, more drama than action but Elfman was way more successful than Ang Lee in that regard.

Stop your drama man, it 's just Red Dragon # 2... Or "Green Dragon" if you prefer...! And your friend is not the only guy on the planet to have this.

Nice underated film, clever, much more than any Avengers things that will make your little boy violent and stupid - though now even 30 or 40 years old boys get desperately sadly retained back mentally by the kind... :/ Ah, and awesome photography ! Only the story gets a bit too long at the end, maybe.

... Since the producers wanted to reboot their stuff (wich happened right away), they made their best to wash the public's brain through critics for everyone agrees the film sucked, too bad... And the screenplay for action sequence in the 2nd opus looked like being left to the 3-D guys, a bit like leaving toys in the hands of a couple of kids. Then you just could watch the kids playing with their 3-D puppets. Poor to the last.

What's mature is enjoying the little things that others might find the contrary, to some who thought that just because others don't think it's not clever enough to their tastes. It's called preference and being yourself and to whoever doesn't get that better keep their clever wits on to themselves or if not accept the fact that people are just not the same their just different. You don't judge a book by the cover by merely looking because you don't know it till you read the whole darn book the same goes with people.

Ever heard of the saying to each his own? Well that's basically it.

Yep, would be too bad to start a fight about it while it's exactly what makes those films so sad imo, lol. ;-) ... A kid asked at the theatre after watching the Avengers: "hey dad, why do the super-heroes fight during all the film ? Aren't they intelligent ?"... !

Arial
03-02-2013, 06:30 AM
... Not that way, or not anymore. You just need to widen your perspectives in life imho, and stop depending on other people. Scorepranos is not you "saviour" as so much people put it. He's just one of some who have more monopole than others for obtaining rare stuff (and "super-famed" one it seems) who cares about such a site or community. Mind that I'm not judging him or anyone, but I for one, when I lurk over such a place and see such comments am wondering how you can project yourselves that much into the screen. Your life is not in those pixels, really. I'm sure you worth better.

... Or cut the electricity and everybody becomes a nobody (?).

Oh and btw, your remorse concerning "... the negative effects it may have on the original owners if they shared it..." has a name: the Elitist Syndrome. That's what happens when you take your stuff as a money of exchange !

Don't worry, as far as you've been sent the mp3 version the real "money" is still safe ! ;-)

PS: btw, public apologies was maybe not a great idea. One may prefer remaining unmentioned as being the source... Just think before losing your temper. Though, who cares ? :)

Arial...

A kid asked at the theatre after watching the Avengers: "hey dad, why do the super-heroes fight during all the film ? Aren't they intelligent ?"... !

The parent or adult should have responded and said that son, "In life arguments and disagreements may occur but the most important thing to do at the end of the day is to sit down, talk it out and find the common grounds where an agreement shall be made where all shall agree to set aside personal difference and work on what's more beneficial to all".

Simply put friends may argue over other things but at the end of the day you work things out and remain good friends because you acted more adult and more mature by being respectful of others feelings and opinions.

Arial
03-02-2013, 11:53 AM
Haha. That's exactly it. But that heavily set up message replaced any interesting story, the only plot being the same than in Thor, just with different races. Who needs a story when there are so great special effects, some will ask... Erm.

GrannyGooz
03-02-2013, 12:03 PM
Amen. So it was written, so shall it be done. What's the used of putting too much innuendos and bravados when the core storyline will still be the same. Good vs. Evil. Bad Wins First but Ultimately Good Wins the war. Mythical gods and goddesses, Human hybrids, Assassins and Billionaire detectives all but the same a hero who fell at first then redeem themselves later. But if you are to look for spot on comic book movie adaptation The Avengers did it spot on. TDKR as what Nolan had said "The Source Material Is Irrelevant.." go figures.

At TA you have the best times enjoying the best marriage of special effects and spot on adaptation over the first hour of the dark yet sleepy atmosphere at what is supposed to be mind boggling edge of your seat flick when the final point leaves you hanging dry in TDKR. IMO

Heh !

I feel good with the official release myself. Why should I need two hours experience of the same music when the release is well produced and have top cues selection, I wonder. Though, haven't listened to it since about five years. Red Dragon is so close with somehow better orchestration imo, though you may find the dramatic approach of the music less at your taste.

This is probably the second biggest reason. The first biggest being what cody said, people who download it, but do not post. That's a given. Anything I've ever upoaded usually looks like it bombs save for a smattering of posts. BUT when I look at the amount of downloads, it's insane. I've had scores downloaded nearly 400 times, but the threads have 3, maybe 4 posts.

But I digress, the second biggest reason is usually based on the reception of the film itself. If it bombs, it takes everything down with it (as far as the masses are concerned). No matter how great some aspects are, like the score, everything about the film is tarnished and left to rot, again to the majority... unfortunately.

Thanks for this upload. Its an innovative score and one of the last action scores to have any melody at all. I actually quite liked Lee's Hulk. It has its drawn out bits, but so do the Nolan Batman films. Except Lee's film is interesting and fun...whereas superhero films lately are retarded, pretentious and fake hyper reality orgies of poor action sequences. Anyway, thanks again for this score, Elfman is always interesting and fun.

Personally, I think there at least two things going on here. First, we have a ton of leechers. Many, many members who download, but how many of them post? They say nothing. Really, who here does? We have a core group of members who communicate, but that's it. What actually bothers me most about that is re-upping dead links. Sometimes we are busy, or burned out a bit. Or sometimes we don't have the item anymore, and requests for re-ups go unfilled, when we all know damn well there are dozens, or more, who grabbed it in the beginning. These people could easily help their fellow members out but often choose not to, for whatever reason.

Now the second thing, which is entirely an opinion not based on any fact, and is not meant as sarcasm or a dig at any member, ok. I think Scorpranos gets more activity for two reasons. First, his uploads are usually the RCP type of scores our younger members especially "need". Apparently to be able to keep breathing. Second, there is a core group of members who are trying to show scorpranos support. Some are likely really friends, some just don't like the drama that usually surrounds any given post of his. But by far, I would bet many are just trying to placate him, in the hopes he will post the next "big one" immediately. The thought of his leaving causes dizziness and fainting. I think down south they just call it "the vapors", though that usually applies to us women folk (and seems apt for these member's apparent constitutional problems).

They are always so worried when he takes a break, lamenting their loss, and rejoicing when he is back. You can spot them easily enough. These are the people who, when they get their most desired score, then immediate post something like "Thanks, it's great. I am hopping for Inception soon now. Soon now. Pleeeaaaassse. It seems as if as soon as they download the current grail, they have moved on and are fully expecting Scorpranos to "come through" for them again very shortly. I wonder how many of his fans **really** like him as a friend, or really even know anything about him? How many message him, or post, a simple hi, how are you? Not nearly even a quarter of the downloaders, I expect.

Anyhoo, just my two cents. Accounting for inflation, I know it doesn't add up to much, if anything.....:)

You always cared too much. Again a matter of projecting your own self into the computer screen imo, with all your respect Princess.

Whaaat ?... I missed so much episodes ! Where are they ?.... Can you link me ??? Please, please, please, please, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase !!!!!!!!!!! :D

Go figure why this guy goes on then...

Your observation inspires me the thought that great minds meet, so the contrary must happen too.

cody,

You know I've downloaded a few of your shares, and appreciate every one. So thanks again for this.

As for Danny Elfman, most people usually love or hate (or slightly don't give a rats ass) his music.

For me, I was hooked on his stuff when I first heard 'Edward Scissorhands' and 'Black Beauty' scores. I think those two scores probably influenced my turning attentions from rock/pop/electronic/80's music to soundtracks. I always did like his stuff with Oingo Boingo as well.

Whenever I went to the record shops, his cd's were always one of the first I scooped up to complete his ever expanding resume of music. As of recently, he seems to sometimes fall into the mass-produced-hurry-with-a-film-score, but he's not the only one. I guess times are changing when it comes down to getting a film out as quickly and timely as possible to make a buck. So I don't blame him or many other composers for that pressure. Those guys have to eat too, so not everything can turn into a masterpiece sadly. But then again, it's up to the listener of Elfman's scores. I love listening to a lot of his stuff, and chuckle when I hear tidbits of Peewee's Big Adventure, Dick Tracy, Scrooged and others leaking thier way into most of his other scores. Just his style and way of doing things. I'm happy with that.

While the movie could have been better, the score does not disappoint. I just wonder how many times Ang Lee said "More Like Batman! More Like Darkman!" to Elfman.

Then again, I like the work he did with The Flash show from the 90's...

As far as "those who leech" and "those who contribute" - I'm a n00b to this group but have been around in one form or another since the old rec.movie.music group. I hope to be able to add to the group in any way I can.

Thanks!

Actually, it's quite the opposite. The score for Hulk was originally composed AND already recorded by Mychael Danna. But at the 11th hour the films producers decided they needed a bigger name in the score dept, as test screening of the film in general were dismal. Enter Danny Elfman, who was charged with rewriting the score on short notice and in short order. Ang Lee actively pushed Elfman throughout the process to reinvent himself and try to stick with the middle-eastern flavor that Danna brought to the score... The LAST thing Lee wanted was for Elfman to re-hash Batman, Darkman, Spider-man etc.

Speaking of Danna's scrapped score, I would LOVE to hear it.

Anyone else surprised by the amount of electronic synths snuck into this score? Even more than Elfman's first Spidey.

That was actually Shirley Walker; Elfman just wrote the short main theme.

I don't have this in FLAC, but here's a MEGA link for it in 320k. The original FLAC files were from a lossy source, so this shouldn't be a problem.

This may be my favorite Marvel movie. It's downbeat, the characters are all depressed and miserable, and it's not at all of interest to children.

Yes! Easily one of Elfman's best comic book movie scores, next to his Spider-Man and Batman scores. It's also kind of a shame that people seem to dislike this movie so much, as it's truly the only film featuring the Hulk that actually dives into Bruce Banner's inner psyche and explores his emotional struggles with having his super-powers. When one thinks about it, the Hulk is an even more tragic and downbeat character than even Batman or Spider-Man, because Bruce Banner can never truly let himself be emotionally free the way even those characters can, unless he unleashes his inner beast and causes all kinds of death and destruction. And there's the fact that he's constantly being hunted by the military, which also sucks donkey balls.
