I have the 28-track release (http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/title/97026/Life+Of+Pi), so expect both lossless and lossy uploads within a few hours from now.

OP has been updated with mirrors.

so, this is the FYC score

Technically, yeah.

Is there anychance this can be uploaded using winzip? thanks

If I do, MediaFire will have a field day with it in less time than you can say Pi. Trust me when I say you won't regret having 7-Zip.

It's my pleasure. :)

By the way, I'm having a slight hiccup with my connection, so that means a few hours is more or less a few more hours from now. I'm still going to deliver, so don't think otherwise.

I think there's already a thread of the OST with Life of Pi @ FLAC, I got it from here. But thanks so much for this!! :)

Oh, I see. Strangely enough, when I did a search to see if it was posted, I only got the 320kbps post, but now after reading your post and doing another search, the lossless post appeared. It isn't the first time that has happened, though.

But who's keeping score anyway, the more the merrier! Mirrors never hurt.

What bit rate did the site spit this out at? I was wondering if the unreleased tracks could be mixed into the ost for a better-ish quality?

Track 30 to 31 is like this too..

A mistake made by them, unfortunately. =/

However, the 29th track is also present in the official release as the 6th track, and both have the same length; is the problem present there as well? I'm lazy to check myself...

As for the other two, maybe we'll get lucky if someone gets the physical release.

Thanks for the share!! A truly wonderful score.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what tracks from this version are previously unreleased? This share is only 2 minutes longer than the OST, and I'm having trouble finding the new stuff.

BOSS LADY
02-28-2013, 11:44 PM
As fas as I know, this has five tracks not present in the commercial release, which are: 01 Mamaji Teaches Pi To Swim, 14 Building The Raft, 29 Thank You Vishnu For Introducing Me To Christ, 30 Piscine Molitor Patel (Vocal Version), and 31 Pondicherry. Both track 29 and 31 seem to be alternate versions.

Perhaps someone could correct me if I'm wrong.

And you're welcome; it's my pleasure.

I don't think this should have won best score at the Oscars. I'd would've rather see Skyfall or Argo win. But hey, Im not part of the Academy...yet...

But anyways, this is really the FYC promo, so as such I recreated the FYC cover. Here it is. (1000x1000)

Thank you for the cover. The one I used was embedded with the MP3's, though.

I don't think The Social Network should have won, but it did. Ohh well.

Thanks for the cover, I prefer (9 times out of 10) an official FYC cover over a fan-created image. The best fan artwork FYC I've seen yet is for TRON: Legacy

Oi, if I ever loathed Facebook, that movie made me hate it. Not to mention I can't stand Jesse Eisenberg, not even for a mere second. Hell, I can't stand I had to even make mention of him, but I guess I just wanted to make a point or something like that.

To be honest, I haven't like the winners for best score for past 3 years. I agree with you about The Social Network. It's not a bad score at all, but its certainly not worthy of an Oscar. And TRON: Legacy should've been nominated (and should've won if nominated.)

And I agree with you about FYC covers as well. That's why I always try to recreate them from scratch if I can't find a good scan (which is most of the time).

I don't hate Jesse Eisenberg. He's a decent actor but his main problem is that he plays the same character in every movie.

I can't remember the last time I was happy with the winner. Possibly 9 years ago when Return of the King walked away with all 11 Academy Awards it was nominated for? Wait, scratch that. 2009 - Slumdog Millionaire. I was happy it won, but I also wanted WALL•E to win.

It's a damn shame Legacy wasn't nominated, Daft Punk truly created something amazing if you ask me. I think it was only nominated for Visual Effects, Sound Mixing & Sound Editing. But Disney had a really good FYC campaign going. I've seen FYC ads for Production Design, Best Picture, Best Original Score (obviously), Best Actor (Jeff Bridges), Cinematography, Art Direction, Costume Design and several more.

I think both Hugo and The Artist won way too many awards. They only reason why they were so popular with the Academy was because both were basically homages to classic cinema. Don't me wrong I LOVE Hugo, and enjoyed The Artist, but they both took home more oscars than they needed. ESPECIALLY The Artist for best score! WTF?

I'll be happy though whenever the Academy adds an award for best 3D. That's something I wouldn't mind Hugo winning. :P

Well being HUGE TRON nerd myself, I would've loved to see TRON: Legacy win at least one award... If anything they should've won for best visual effects. That had the best of 2010! (Minus C.L.U./young Jeff Bridges). And yes, the score was truly special! But I'm guessing they wernt nominated for best score may be because "It wasn't artistic enough"...

On the subject of Visual Effects though, the original TRON wasn't nominated because the Academy thought Disney cheated by using computers! LOL! Time certainly have changed since then...

And Prometheus should've won best visual effects this year! It also should've been nominated for best Cinematography. Life of Pi was 95% CGI.... So I don't think it's fair that it won best cinematography.

I was hoping Skyfall won Cinematography. That scene when Bond is on the boat entering the Macau casino through the dragon's mouth? And the floating candles on the water? And also the interior of the casino, that entire segment was gorgeously lit. Ugggghhhh omg such good cinematography there

I was hoping Skyfall would win cinematography as well! The casino scene looked BEAUTIFUL! Since Sam Mendez is coming back to direct the next bond film, we should have the same cinematographer come back as well! :D I'm still interested to see a Bond film from Christopher Nolan. I know he expressed interest in doing a bond film not long before Skyfall came out.
