(For a high-res version of this image see here ().)

This gamerip was very, VERY time-consuming and quite difficult. The game uses dozens of very short tracks and pieces them together when needed. This allows the music to transition to the next part fast and seamlessly, but otherwise it's a needle in a haysack thing.
I had to record myself playing through the game with only music enabled in order to figure out how the music sounds in-game, then listen to the short loops and figure out which part belongs to what in which order. What's more, all loops for one mission are in one folder, and there are several tracks in them - so I had to sort out tracks that can consist of up to 30 individual pieces, from a folder of 100 individual files (not counting the sfx files which are easier to sort out).
And don't even get started with the radio tracks, which aside from Klassic FM I knew NONE of them and I had to check YouTube just to figure out what song that is XD.

Still, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this game, and now everyone can enjoy its music.

Here's how the soundtrack is structured:

Part 1(Story Missions) contains all the music that is heard during the missions (aka story mode) of the game. The music from the two mission pack DLCs is included as well in a separate zipfile for each of them. (Genkibowl VII tracks are in Part 2 since they're activities technically-speaking).
Any song that appears during a mission, but appears on radio as well, are not included - no need to include duplicates after all, right? Songs that appear exclusively in the missions, however, are included.

Some of the songs are from the album “I Choose Noise” by Hybrid. Truly impressive stuff, I recommend everyone to check out the full-length songs on YouTube (links for those can be found in the mission notes). Hybrid's songs are shortened because only parts of them are used for the dynamic sequencer system of the game. These versions have the suffix “(Game Edit)”.

Part 2(Radio Stations) contains all of the radio stations.

Part 3(Other Stuff) contains all the non-mission, non-radio tracks such as the Professor Genki activity, the winning jingles played after each mission and the shop tracks. There are two ringtones as well, one from the game and the other one found on the official website. There also are some files which I couldn't figure out where they belong to, but I included them nonetheless.

Part 2 and 3 are not in FLAC but instead were left in its original OGG format (Genki stuff still is in FLAC though). Since the source files already are in a lossy format, I didn't see the need to convert them as there is no increase in quality, but instead a drastic increase in filesize. Part 1 is in FLAC, however, since I mixed together all the small sequencer tracks and saving those in OGG would've meant a real loss in quality.
I even tested it, and the results are: The radio folder is about 300 MB – the FLAC version of that over 10 times that size!

If you like the music, consider supporting the developers by buying either the current game or their next game - I promise you you won't regret it. Or buy the CD to support the artist, even if it has only a few tracks from the game.

Notes

About the mission tracks in general: The game has two different ways on how to handle the sound in-game.

Type 1 is the proper way, in which the sound effects, voices and music tracks are all handled separately and are played on their own channel. I was able to get these tracks to work.
Type 2 (used in almost all cutscenes) does not split the sound as clearly as in Type 1. While the voices still have their own channel, both the sound effects AS WELL AS the background music are mixed together. This makes retrieving the music impossible of course.

As a result, some tracks heard on the cutscenes are not included into this soundtrack. However, two of them (when meeting Oleg for the first time and the end theme played when you killed the Coward) can be found on the official soundtrack (Part 4).

As for the naming scheme, I named the tracks after the mission they appear in. Everything here is in chronological order. Songs that I know their title of, but are not included in any of the radio stations, are included as well.
The following names that are bold refer to the filename. Since these names are the mission names, figuring out which song plays during which mission should be easy.
Many thanks goes to Emmy has a Gum who listed all of them mission-exclusive song names – not even the wiki knows all of the song names! (Thread 110656)

And now for the individual mission notes:

When Good Heists Go Bad 4 has a different ending than in-game. In the game it uses a fade-out track which I couldn't find in the game's files, no matter how hard I looked inside the extracted folders. The game has a strange structure for their music files in general – the background music, voices and cutscene sounds are all in different folders for instance – so I eventually just gave up. Most of you probably won't notice the difference, but the audiophiles and experts among you might – so here's your answer before you even ask.
Same goes for The Belgian Problem 2 btw – the transition to the original fade-out felt too abrupt for me. The current one isn't perfect either, but the transition is better by far.

Hit The Powder Room is the music that can be heard when standing at the entrance of the Powder gunshop, which is the building where the mission of the same name takes place. This track isn't looped twice because frankly, I can't hear any structure at all, every 20 seconds sounds the same. I doubt a casual listener would notice any difference at all, so I left it at just one loop with a fade-out.

The Belgian Problem 2 is a short version of the song Dogstar (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB-6ATu4EUw) by Hybrid.

Rancid Core is the music that plays during the mission "Return to Steelport" while being in the Safeword club. The track is a looped version of the original (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpdtenXCX64).

Trojan Whores uses the songs I'm a VIP (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2UHBh_cfpg) and Honeys in the Place (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQTGlDGD-l0).

Gang Bang 1 and 2 are played during the mission "My Name is Cyrus Temple" as well.

STAG Party 1 track is arguably the only weak track in here. There are a few moments where one can clearly hear an abrupt, not-so-seamless transition. That is the best I could do with the game tracks I'm afraid. In a way, the STAG track from the official soundtrack is a proper replacement for this.

Learning Computer is a short version of the song Last Man Standing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SqUYOKZgpU) by Hybrid. I decided to split the three main loops and give them a single track each, instead of letting them play one after another. This way, one can appreciate the individual sound parts more.

Air Steelport 3 is a short version of the song Just For Today (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJrmm5P5WSw) by Hybrid.

Zombie Attack 3 is a short version of the song Choke (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkexA9cYAds) by Hybrid.

The three tracks from the 3 Count Beat Down mission have an echo filter applied to them. Believe it or not, that already is the clear version - there exist a second version for each track that is really unrecognizeable. The tracks are clearly songs from a real artist, but I don't know of whom so I credited them to the "Unknown Artist".

Two tracks by Epic Score are featured during Faster, More Intense! - They Hit Without Warning (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9_F33SlEQ4) and The Enemy is Coming (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMRQZHV5kIo) respectively.

During the mission Tour de Farce, the song "Bounce Like My Checks" is sung by Pierce. It is a song from Saints Row 1 sung originally by Aisha and could even be heard on the in-game radio. In this game, the song is covered-only, but the original can be found here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TcScBlVd7U).

I aprecciate your hard work and the fact that you shared it with everyone. To tell the truth I didn't really understood everything about the separate folders, but I got the part of " listen to the short loops and figure out which part belongs to what in which order", and I'm guessing that part was really annoying (not to say f***ing impossible). Sooooo BIG THANKS TO YOU and I'm glad you didn't kill yourself in desperation during the ripping proccess xD

How do you open the file? I tried using Jzip and 7Zip but both said that they can't open it.

I can't use the first 3 parts? Anything I'm not doing right? Either by renaming its extension to .zip or using Winzip (I set it up so it can unzip 7z files), they say the file is damaged? Thanks!

I can't seem to get any of the packs working except for the official soundtrack. 7zip gives me an "unspecified error" when I try to open them. Thanks for the official soundtrack, though!

It isn't broken; that's just the filename the OP used to decrease the chance of the file being deleted.

Thanks for the uploads! Awesome work!

Also, to those who are having trouble with the 7z files: The number after the 7z denotes that it is a part of an archive. For example, in order to open up Greetings From Steelport, you have to have 001-008, otherwise you will run into errors.

To the OP:

Thank you very much for all your hard work ripping and sorting this collection!

Is there any chance of you re-upping the "Other Stuff"? Your hosting site says the links are down...

Thanks again!

So I got round to trying to extract everything today and... couldn't. Every extractor I had (Ez7z, Betterzip, Keka, 7zx, Untar, The Unarchiver & Stuffit Expander) I threw at "Greetings from Oleg" and "Greetings from Steelport", but they all failed. I made sure I pre-input the password, "zodiacmaster", and still nothing. Maybe re-downloading will help... I'll try again tonight. :(

OK, I figured it out. For some reason, jdownloader wasn't DLing the files correctly. It was "over-downloading" them - it would download the files up to 100%, but then keep going and then deciding to finish when it felt like it, resulting in corrupt files. But downloading through my browser (Safari) grabbed the files just fine. Weird, huh?

Yeah, considering how much time I take retagging tracks and gathering album art to my liking, I can only imagine how much time it must take to do what you do. Looking forward to seeing the "Other Stuff" tracks get re-upped :)
