Games which you played once and moved on but they left a nostalgic presence which you would like to return to one day.

Especially games for systems you don't currently own anymore.

-----------------------

Off the top of my head I can name a few...

Flower Sun and Rain
Every Legend of Zelda game I've ever played especially Link's Awakening
All Ace Attorney games
GTA III
Mario RPG
All Paper Marios
Super Mario 64
Shadow of Destiny
Silent Hill 1-3
Broken Sword

Will post more later

Hmm...

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Metroid: Zero Mission
Metroid Fusion
Mario Party 5
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Chex Quest
Goosebumps: Attack of the Mutant
Glover
Star Wars: Rogue Squadran
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Rayman 2: The Great Escape

I'll probably add more when I can think of some...

I didn't actually "move on" from Majora's Mask. The only reason I don't play it is because I have the crappy Gamecube version that has the slow framerate and freezes all the time when I get far. I will definitely get back into it as soon as I find a Nintendo 64 copy of it.

I'll add more as they come to me.

There aren't a whole lot of games that I played once and then moved on. I replayed most of my games a lot.

I have a PC, most games I want to play again (regardless of console) I can.

The only game I can REALLY think of is Phantom Dust for the Xbox.

It doesn't work on my 360, and I can't emulate Xbox on my PC, so I'm kind of 'SoL'.

I actually still have the original disc that came with the cereal. Trying to figure out how to get that and the original Quake working on Windows 7. It's as easy as it was back then when I had Windows 95 which was when these games were originally out there. That's the downside to upgrades. You end up sacrificing a bit if you get what I mean.

RPG's are the only games that really have this effect on me, besides Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, which I can't wait to play again. There are those games like Call of Duty and Halo where you remember how much fun you used to have on them with mates, but I don't really feel the urge to play them again anymore as I know it isn't the same.

So yeah, always getting urges to replay Final Fantasy games, hence why I am currently replaying VIII and just finished IX before that. Really feel like playing X and XII too, actually only played XII once. VII will probably get another crack soon enough, but have to play VI for the first time before that (don't hate), so yeah.

Nintendo DS

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days

"Even if I'm not ready, I have to make this choice. You have poured so many memories into me. Given me so much..."

I'm going to miss this game, the gameplay sucks but the music, characters, the locations and the story are great. This never happened to me before, not even with Mischief Makers (my favorite video game).

I don't know how but I'm going to watch that KH358/2D movie included in that KHHD(1.5R) compilation.

PC

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
King's Quest II: Romancing the Throne
King's Quest III: To Heir is Human
King's Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella
Prince of Persia
Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame

I've been thinking of starting a new game of Dragon Quest VIII but I know it'll take over my life completely like it did last time.

Played that up to the final boss and never went back to it.

I always wanted to play through VII. Tried once but that game is so friggin' long.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm still hanging on to my Windows XP for Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 etc. just for the older games. You actually can make older games work on Windows 7 with Virtual PC. I actually just learned about this in my networking class a few months ago. It basically runs XP or whatever system within Windows 7 so older programs can work with new systems. I haven't tried it yet on my PC but maybe I should?

If you got that far then you put in plenty of hours. It was a long game.

Yes. Please do and let me know how it works out. I trust you'll be honest with me with how things turn out. I don't want anything on my PC that will erase Windows 7 or cause any problems to it via blue screen, immediate shut down, virus, malware or any other problem because my brother, before losing his job spent $1,000 on a gaming PC. It was the last thing his purchase with the money he saved from that job as a graphic designer. Technically, it's mine. But I share it since he bought it when he really should have saved that cash. Plus, we're both gamers. So don't want this machine screwed up. I have to know it'll be compatible specifically with my machine before I even think of getting it.

Hopefully within Windows 7 means just that. Last thing I'd want is Windows 7 gone. I do not know if Quake or Chex Quest will work with XP since those were released when Windows 95 was still around. I do have the first Suffering game. I believe that will work on XP. I also have DC Universe and don't think that will run on XP.

So with all that said, please try it and let me know the results.

By the way, if you haven't played Suffering yet, I highly recommend it. Especially if you're into horror/suspense. Turning into a beast, monsters formed from past incidents, a doctor made of projection light, fighting yourself 3 times in the end. Man, I was so addicted to that game. The second was good too and is also recommended. However, the first should be played first because the second is a sequel to it. Plus, the first is better. I really enjoyed it. I know film adaptations of video games usually suck. But I still hope they make a Suffering film because I am really anxious to see how they play out the game's plots, storylines, twists, etc. I see potential here and hope it reaches it if a film ever gets done.

In fact....

Games I Wish I could Play Again - The Suffering, Quake, Chex Quest. I think I put the last two in a previous post. But since they were part of the comment, felt only right to add it again.

Once I get Dead Space 3 I want to replay 1 & 2 and play all three back to back to back.
I did the same with the Mass Effect series.
