Definitely. This movie's great fun—and makes for an interesting score, too, something I consider sort of the Catch Me If You Can of James Horner's career.

I have the CD somewhere, was hoping there would be a longer release as I don't think it's everything from the movie, but it's a really great tune to listen to and just relax.

Was an extended version of this soundtrack ever released? I'm quite certain that there are audio cues and tracks in the movie that are not the soundtrack.

Masamichi Amano stole from one cue of Sneakers for Giant Robo Episode 5:

Giant Robo Episode 5 (1994) - 09 - The Truth of Bashtarlle (http://kiwi6.com/file/7hi4ap4z98)
Sneakers (1992) - 04 - Playtronics Break-In (http://kiwi6.com/file/7ea5ke82bw)

EDIT: Oh, and the Pelican Brief :'D

The Peilcan Brief (1993) - 12. Garage Chase (http://kiwi6.com/file/xt8ngs4r26)

Thanks for streichorchester (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/giant-robo-osts-1-7-masamichi-amano-49552/#post1146069) for pointing this out :'D

I added these little gems and the brief info to my Sneakers file.

TY :)

Thanks for the re-up, Tapoktro! This is another favorite of mine from Horner. I bought this CD the moment it was released. Love the movie too.

PianoFiles has listings for it but then again they list a lot of things, so who knows if it's genuine or not.

True story:

La-La Land and Sony Music were trying to release the complete score in 2012 in time for the film's 20th anniversary, but Universal Pictures turned them down (disappointing both LLL and Sony - yes even the Sony guys were bummed by it) and no reason for turning them down was ever given.

Man oh man is that disappointing. I give a big fat finger to the Universal people for that one. Despite that bad news, it's still good in a way - now i know that they HAVE the material to do it and that there are people in the right places interested in getting it done. Let a few years go by, some personnel changes happen at Universal, and maybe we'll finally get it.

Really? That's astonishing. Such a memorable score for such a wonderful movie. I wonder if Universal understands just how many fans there are of this score, and just how many Horner completeists who would love to obtain this...

I had to be a little dishonest about knowing Sneakers was out there, hence my "who knows if it's genuine or not" comment.

I agree, Universal screwed up on that one.

I wish I had a way of communicating to Universal that I would be happy to just put my wallet in their hands and say "HERE! TAKE MY MONEY! GIVE ME MORE SNEAKERS MUSIC!" ...But I suspect they might wonder whether or not I was mentally unsound. Or horribly naive.

Either way, I'm so very, very pleased that an extended score exists. Is there more information about the extended Sneakers score available beyond the information that's been divulged on the expanded score thread?
