This is basically the same as Post Your Game Collection! but you post ALL the movies you own. Since there is such a wide variety of movies, you can arrange them by genre, letter, etc. especially if you have a massive collection. Again, spoilers are recommended so we won't have giant posts to scroll through... but if you would rather take a picture that would work too. Since I have a small collection, I'm arranging mine by Blu-ray and DVD. If you post here, I will edit your post into the OP for easy navigation!

2-26-13 Update: Since I did get a few replies here, I alphabetized the collections for no reason cause I have nothing better to do on my days off...

I picked up a trick from FFR to link posts and rename urls so if you guys update your lists, edit your original posts since I linked to them to the OP for easy navigation. I also did this in the game thread.

EDIT: I guess it would be ok to make a new post saying "list updated" or something to keep thread on the 1st page to possibly attract new people. :P

I couldn't even begin to list mine. I have too many. Zoran made a thread like this a while back, and I started to make one for him but it got too overwhelming. I think I still have it somewhere, partially finished.

I found my list on my external. :D

It was last modified on 04/04/2011. It was unfinished then, and will need some serious updating now.

I don't have my films arranged alphabetically on shelves, I have a bizarre system, so it's not so easy to start where I left off. I'll give it a go over the next few weeks.

I rented it off Netflix and after I finished watching it I rated it 5 out of 5 stars and the next time I was at the store I bought the sucker. Anyone who's seen tons of horror flicks will get it and should love it. Everyone else should too.

Wow, didn't realize there was more than one lol, I own the re-make. I haven't bought a DVD/ Blu-Ray in a while but I hope to pick a few more up soon :)

Edit:

Added "Edgeplay: A Film About the Runaways", and "Canadian Bacon". I probably have a few more videos, but they're on my external hard-drive and I don't really feel like checking at the moment xD

Yup, the original was directed by the great George Romero. I liked the original better for its poignancy. The remake was ok. Had a little more action and the pace was a lot quicker. The gf bought the remake recently.

It's not that simple. When discs are made, they lose money. They release them, hoping to get some profit about them. But if no one buys, they'll make no profit so in their minds, it's like why bother continuing with this project. So they move on to a new project instead.

It's like a TV show or a movie. If you were putting your money into a TV show and at the beginning it was doing great, but later it wasn't going so good anymore. Would you keep it going? I wouldn't. I'd stop and invest the rest of my money in something else or a new show if I ever thought of one that I felt had potential to last and help me get some of that money back through viewership and ratings. So, it's the same concept, but a different situation.

Just because you and BrightLightFlight want them all released so you can buy them and I'm sure there's others.....fact is they can't make enough profit off the those who say they'll buy them because the amount of people buying them were already so small as it is, they stopped releasing them as they weren't generating enough profit. And I'd be saying this even if I was a fan of those shows. It's just common sense. I'm not here to fight. Just trying to point out some facts.

At then of the day, those shows got releases which is great. Sucks for the fans that the rest didn't get a release. But there's shows worthy of a release that didn't get any releases at all. Wonder Years, Step By Step among many, many, many others. And it really sucks even more that they haven't gotten any releases yet. I saw an interview with the actress who played Winnie on The Wonder Years. She says there hasn't been DVD's released on the show because of music copyrights. Who knows? This may be the same reason why Step By Step didn't get a release yet. Same may be for Malcolm and King of the Hill.

I'm just saying.

Yes, but they can always do a limited release or sell the rights to another company that is interested.

That's true. But why would a company purchase the rights to a show that didn't do so well in DVD sales? I wouldn't be in the bid for buying those shows. I'd invest money in shows that I felt would do well in sales. But that's just me.

I mean, think about it. Malcolm's dvd sales were bad enough to the point of where no more seasons were released. Would you wanna purchase the rights to a show like that? I mean, buying the rights to a show is a LOT of money.

The economy is also probably a good reason why the sales were bad.

Music copyrights is the reason why Daria wasn't released on dvd for so many years.

Bump? Always see the word. But don't know what it means in this case.

You haven't seen any others lately cause generally, movies suck. They're more focused on putting today's shitfests on blu ray rather that focus on classics of the past to put on blu ray. But that might also be because a good amount of buyers don't have blu rays, which may be why DVD's are still around.

There are some movies like The Emperor's New Groove that I'm excited for. They just aren't out yet. There will be more classics on blu-ray soon. But yeah, most movies that are being focused on are the newer ones, but classics are being released every little while too.

I feel the release of classics should be priority #1 with the current movies being held off till later. It'd be a win-win as the masses would get what they want with the companies making profit because since the classics are in such demand, they'll make money from the purchases. But since they're focusing more on the current movies which many seem to pass up on buying, they seem to be losing more money than they're aiming to make.

Adding every single Tim Burton, Spielberg and Christopher Nolan movie on blu ray. They're my favorite directors. Also have every John Carpenter movie that's on bluray too. But I don't like him as much has the other 3 I named.

Quite a collection of old movies. Nice. The old ones are better than today. It's like that old saying says, "Old is gold." It's too bad the current generation is robbed from such seeing movie quality like BTTF, ET, T2. Don't get me wrong. The superhero movies are huge franchises and draw a lot of attention which is why those movies are still being done. But most of them, as good as they are, pale in comparison to the old days. I do think there's way too many superhero movies. But as I said, its a big market so there's value in it. Therefore, this trend will continue.

The old days had more non-superhero films. That's what was good about it as you had a variety from different movies to choose from whereas now, its mostly superheros.
