Adam is called to life by the voice of the Eternal Stage Manager Up There and is
instructed to name all of the creatures. He arises reluctantly and says "Could I have five more minutes?"

"No Goddess Will Ever Get My Heart To Throb. For The Girl Of My Dreams Is A Slob."

The Apple Tree (1966) is a series of three clever musical playets that are tied together by a common theme – "Be careful what you wish for" and "Why Brown?"
Written by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, based on stories by Mark Twain, Frank R. Stockton and Jules Feiffer
(Later rebooted by Kristin Chenoweth in 2005).

"The Diary of Adam and Eve” lovingly tells the story of the Bible’s first couple and how they discover the world around them. Their idyllic existence in Eden is threatened by the appearance of the Snake and that delicious, tempting apple.

"The Lady Or The Tiger?" takes places in a mythical, barbaric kingdom. The court balladeer relates the tale of Princess Barbara and Captain Sanjar and their forbidden love between a royal and a commoner.

"Passionella", an offbeat Cinderella-story about a chimney sweep whose dreams of being a “glamorous movie star” nearly sabotage her one chance for true love

A young Alan Alda (later of M*A*S*H fame), Barbara Harris (who won a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical for the role), and Larry Blydon (of "What's My Line") star in this Broadway Classic.
This Original Broadway Cast soundtrack displays the singing talent of Alan Alda with the tracks "Eve", "Beautiful, Beautiful World" and "It's A Fish".

Barbara Harris packs a punch with her gorgeous velvity voice on "Here In Eden", "What Makes Me Love Him?", "Go To Sleep, Whatever You Are" and "Wealth".

I saw this play on Broadway when I was in Junior High.
This is a rip from the 46 year old original 12" vinyl with surprisingly good quality.
For Bonus tracks, I've added an original recording from the play captured by someone
in the audience (thank you whoever recorded this) and a flash video of Barbara Harris and Larry Blydon appearing on the 1967 Tony Awards Show.
Plus I've included scans of the original 12" LP liner notes.

Enjoy!

Can you believe that was a "very young" Alan Alda (M*A*S*H) singing?
Too bad about Barbara Harris; she disappeared into obscurity shortly after the play ended.
