I was wondering if anyone in here has fought and/or beaten the Shinryu monster in the Arena at the Calm Lands. I'm not sure if the monsters made by that guy are different in every game but if they aren't someone PLEASE tell me! I tried fighting that guy with all final Overdrives, all aeons, everyone (including aeons) on overdrive, every final weapon and it still killed me in about 1.5 min.

Are you talking about Shinryu? Cause Shinryu is the underwater monster, and you can't use aeons underwater.

Regardless of the monster, you could check up the FAQ's at GameFAQ's to find a strategy to use. You could also consider training and remolding the SG so you'll have very high stats. (Almost all of the Arena creatues are EASY with 255 stats!)

The monsters name is something like Shinryu and yes it is underwater but you have to understand that THIS Shinryu took off over 75,000 points of damage on it's normal attack!!!! I mean how are you supposed to guard against that? It is impossible!!!

Have 99 999 HP... Break HP Limit o_O

And a hell of a lot of Megalixers.

Yeah but first of all how do I get alot of Megalixers and second how long do you think it would take to get 99999 HP? I don't know about you but that seems like it would take longer than it did to get Aeris to level 99 on the first disc (sorry for mentioning 7 in here but it was just an analogy)

Um, with HP + % modifiers, not long at all, really. That's what your shield is for - Synth HP+ 50% 4 times or some junk, and before you know it, your HP is way up there.

And as for Megalixers, you should have a pretty big stock already from going through the game - if not, check out a FAQ, figure out which monster is most likely to drop it, and go kill a heap - which also gives you the added bonus of levelling up, increasing your HP.

Shinryu is a very small grain of sand compared to Nemisis!!! (when you capture 10 of every monster), he wiped out the mungus sisters in one hit dispite them all having 255 defence!!! There is no possible way to defeat him unless you cheat and use yojimbo's Zamato overdrive.

Well I haven't fought him but I probably could very easily be able to. I am in the process of finding my FFX game now but I am not completely sure where it is and when I find it I will take all of your advice so thanks a million for all your help.

Well for those of us who have surpassed mortal bounds its easy. My tactic is to use rikku and mix a super mega vitality-g with a chocobo wing and that thing that teaches triple overdrive. it gives you haste shell protect and autolife. of course rikku sucked with 360 hit points and her overdrive on stoic. when she was killed she came back to life with her overdrive. Repeat. of course you need a lot of items but then if you can fight nemisis you probably have them.
My stats were all 255 so each attack did 99999 damage.
If you have the american version just quick hit and use aeons as shields.

Try and max out your Strength and Defense for Tidus, Wakka, and Rikku. Once done, get everyone's OD's and weapons w/BDL. Have Wakka use Attack Reels and Tidus a Blitz Ace. Once done with that, have Rikku Entrust her OD to Wakka for another Attack Reels. That's how I keep beating him for WtDs.

Ok what are BTL'S and WTD's? And I haven't played for a while but what is a HP+% modifiers and where do I get them?

I remember that thing, it was rreally annoying, if you have a really maxed out wakka use attack reels, i think i just kept hitting it, and dodging, dodging is good, the only annoying thing was that eraser attack, i think i got lucky with it, though it only has 2,000,000HP so 2 attack reeels or use tidus quick attack as much as you can and auto phoenix, yeah that what saved my ass I made sure evryones accessory had it.

BDL is break damage limit
WtD is Wings to discovery, what it drops.

I have beaten every monster in the Monster Arena over and over. Take Shinyru, for example:
If Tidus, Wakka, and Rikkus' defense is at least 140, you have a chance.
Shinyru has roughly 2,000,000 hit points. My Wakka has attack reels, and when he hits Shinyru for 12x, he takes away almost 1,200,000 of it. Cast hastega on the entire group, protect on the entire group, and just continue hitting him and healing yourself. I have very often killed Shinyru before he gets a single attack on me. If anyone else needs help just ask, if Moderators dont mind. If they do mind, then I won't do it.
Plus, all three of those characters have Break HP Limit on my file, so that makes it alot easier.

just use ultima and hastega and let rikku be the healer because she has the ability "use" and you must have a tons of tetra elemental potions(am i right?) and just use it. you can get those from a big turtle in the omega ruins just steal it.

If anyone needs help defeating any monster inside the battle arena, just ask me. I am a FFX superexpert!

the best way to beat the monster you are on about is to get anamie, level up yuna so that anamies health is way over 50,000 which is possible. and also get yunas overdrive up. make sure anamie does over 10,000 attack and you well away. with anamies strength and overdrive you will do about 300,000 damage. plus you will be able to do that twice because of yunas overdrive. hope that helps.:cool:

Well, Shinyru is a replica of Evrae, just a lot more difficult. And since Tidus, Wakka, and Rikku are the only characters to ever go into water during the game, yes it is impossible for Yuna to fight this particular monster.

The easiest way to defeat Shinryu is to sacrifice your other 2 members by killing them in the beginning but not before you cast Haste on your attacker (preferably Tidus). I use tidus so I'll use him to explain my strategy to defeat Shinryu. Shinryu can't use the Petrify attack when you are left with 1 survivor in the battle. Tidus must have a decent speed say about 200 preferably. If you start the battle with another char other than tidus, use that char to cast Haste on Tidus or just use Tidus to cast it on himself, in any case you need haste. Then, use Quick Hit all the way until you see his turn is about to come up soon. You can either choose to revive one of your teammates or just go with auto-life (I think that works, I forgot) then repeat. Also, use your limit break whenever you can.

Note: Be sure Tidus has Caladbolg fully maxed
