Some cues were taken from klnerfan's ancient ME2 expanded soundtrack, and all of the DLC music but Arrival are from their respective official releases, but but otherwise this 100% a game rip.

By the way I just yesterday decided to dive into Mass Effect universe. Will skip the 1st one though, will watch the important parts on youtube and I basically know the story of the 1st game anyway. The demo of ME2 turned out to be actually good, it made a better impression now than the first time I tried it about a year ago. The cover system seemed less fluid than in other shooters, so I brushed it off. Big mistake, Mass Effect is not all about shooting anyways.
So yeah, the atmosphere in the second part of demo was cool, where you have to save the building contaminated with plague. I was a total dick to those thieves stealing stuff from dead bodies, and shot the other guys who were rough with doctor's assistant. Man I can't wait to make conversation choices in the full version game. Probably will end up being a total renegade hehe.

My suggestion, you sholdn't skip ME1. The combat is TERRIBLE now, but it's still an amazing game that you should experience before you jump into the other games. Trust me on this.

Ok. I knew somebody would say that, don't skip the earlier games, yes of course it would make the experience more fluid and streamlined that way, but... we can probably agree that Mass Effect games are not brisk walks in the park, it takes time to complete each part of the trilogy, we're talking about 50-60 hours if doing it properly. That much I'm just not willing to wait to jump into a more refined Mass Effect 2.
Sacrifices have to be made.

PS. And kudos for being Canadian, I've been to Niagara Falls but never crossed to Canadian side :P

Well, looking back I would skip ME1 every time. It has terrible gameplay in comparison to 2 and 3, and the story is atrociously boring and generic. You can guess more than a fair amount of what happens, just like with every Bioware. But unlike 2 and (up to Priority: Earth) 3 where the story is enjoyable despite it, 1 is boring because of it all.

However, I did enjoy it my first time through. But I was also a younger man then, and my expectations have gone up considerably as I had matured. I say play it so you can at least appreciate it and come to your own decisions. You also have the advantage of looking back on it and seeing just how much Bioware improved the series when you go into 2.

It saddens me, every time I see someone jumping in to the series from ME2, oh well - "to each its own" I respect that.
I as well used to think like that, more fluid, blah blah. Then finally put my foot down I started from lack luster ME1
Oh boy! that game was amazing compared to ME2 + ME3 which I think are both crap seriously -
My apologies for taking the conversion away from the rip, well it wasnt me that started it (lol).

Anyways back the discussion, ME2 is basically a filler Episode/Chapter/Arc whatever you wanna call. To me I could only think
think that it contains very little minute details, it plays in the whole trilogy(Arrival + Shadow Broker) which btw are both DLC
(dark times) every thing else Superfluous. Then there's the final, just sugar coats it all in a well nice package.

The main soundtrack was never in lossless. I know one obscure site was offering a FLAC version back in the day, but it is just an up-scaled version of the MP3 version. Not true lossless.
