Over 11 hours of music and includes the unused music from the DKL series and extra ambienceless versions of DKC2 songs. Sorry for such a crap cover for a large music collection. I'd be obliged if someone can make a better one for me.

EDIT: I accidentally mistagged the bonus tracks from DKC3, the composer and artist is actually David Wise.

Is this a gamerip?

Yes, I would have used the OSTs aside from the fact that the sound quality is lower then what I can rip. Tracks 4-01 to 4-07 & 8-77 are from their respective OSTs however.

I love your rips! What i really like is that you search for every little piece of music in the best quality and put that all together for a nice listening.
Thanks for this really hard work! :)

PS: Is your "Castlevania: Lords Of Shadows"-Rip also in FLAC?

@!!!!!: Appreciate this post. I need a bit of help here though. If it isn't any trouble, can you state which tracks are from the Donkey Kong Country game, specifically and which ones are from DK Land? Country's the only game I played on SNES years ago. Haven't played in YEARS which is why I don't remember much about it aside from remembering how much i LOVED the music and the cutting edge graphics which were way ahead of it's time. Or all all these tracks on both games? I'm confused about it cause I'm not sure of DK Land is a basically a portable game of DK Country meaning same game and music, but Land being for a portable game device while Country's for a home console. Ah, yeah I'm really confused here lol

Thanks :)

The link is still up, maybe try a 3rd party downloading program like JDownloader.

It confused me a bit too but I've organized them as best as I thought possible with DKC coming first before DKL since DKL is a semi-sequel. There were 2 games, DK Land for the GB and a DKC port for the Gameboy Color. From tracks 2-01 to 2-25 are from the DKC port and from 2-26 to 2-36 are from DKL. The DKC port did reuse some music from DKL. Here's the following used in both games: (Tracks 2-03, 2-05, 2-06, 2-07,2-09, 2-13, 2-18, 2-21, 2-22, & 2-24)

EDIT: I'm thinking of re-uploading the entire rip with fixes to little tag errors and to fix the volume for the entire collection.

Thanks and good luck with the re-up stuff. Volume fix would be appreciated. What's wrong with it though? I'll keep checking here and download when things are fixed. One more thing: You mentioning GB and Gameboy Color has me under the impression that the DKC stuff isn't a SNES rip. Not that it matters, really but isn't SNES better music quality that GB/Gameboy Color as it''s a console rather than a portable game device?

EDIT: I'm thinking of re-uploading the entire rip with fixes to little tag errors and to fix the volume for the entire collection.

If you mean that you are going to adjust the volume from all sources (SNES, GB, GBA) to be on the same level, that would be indeed more than welcome! I was actually thinking of splitting them all up according to their sources because to be honest, I'm not too fond of adjusting the volume all the time. I'm not saying that there's something wrong with the rips, but since this compilation switches back and forth through all consoles, it's a bit annoying, at least for me. Seperated, it would be all fine - but than again, if you are going to adjust that, that would be amazing. I for one would love that! :)

Darn, and here I finally got the first file. After five hours, that download was horrible. The second part failed twice, even though the download speed was better. Oh well, hopefully it works better the second time around.

Well, the new volume fix update is definetely much appreciated - I haven't had the time to listen to the whole package, but just from picking a few tracks I still think there's something wrong with the SNES-tracks at least. For the best example I found so far, check 4-48 Snakey Chantey, from 0:04-0:14 - what is that noise there? It's not on the SNES, it's not on the OST, and it's also not on the spc's I have. I don't know what you used as a source, but I assume you are using the same spc's I have so I'd guess you have some less favourable settings on whatever you use to play the spc's, but overall I'm not really sure because I couldn't recreate these noises with any settings on my player.

For what it's worth, the GBA-tracks sound really great especially from what I've heard so far - I had some old rips laying around for them which sounded quite aweful, so this new rip of yours is like a revelation and much appreciated especially for DKC3's unique soundtrack.

Question as well: are the arranged tracks the same as the ones on this (http://vgmdb.net/album/149) album?

Also, I'm not sure what noise CrazyQuarkR means, but the SNES tracks do sound a bit...scratchy, sometimes. Not all the time, but at some points, it's really noticeable. Kind of strange. O.o

Yes the arranged tracks are from that OST. And I've checked Snakey Chantey and yes I do hear the scratchy sound. I've used on winamp and I hear it but when I play it on foobar2000 it's not there unfortunately all of the settings necessary aren't available on the foobar plugin. I'll have to find another way to record those specific tracks.

Can anyone list me the tracks they're hearing scratchy noise on?

Well, I'm afraid I still haven't had found the time to listen to the whole thing (especially not with paying attention to the music) but if it's any help, I play the spcs on winamp too and they sound fine. The plugin I use is called Alpha-II SPC Player v3.33 - and on the settings I use "Like the SNES" .

Has anyone else heard the little pops in tracks like Lockjaw's Saga?

If anyone is finding anymore errors within tracks, please report them in this thread.

The only songs with the popping sounds seem to only be from DKC 2's soundtrack

EDIT: Nuts and Bolts may have it as well

Yeah, amazing compilation that I'm very thankful to have but many DKC2 tracks definitely have a "popping" sound in them. The ones that stick out for me are "Lockjaw Saga" (both versions) and "Boss Bossanova".

Yes, I know opinions but... ugh!
"Like a SNES"? I can't believe people like old muffied blurry Gaussian interpolation at 32000 Hz to Sinc interpolation at 44100 Hz.

Linear and no interpolation beats out both of them completely. Linear to be used on music with complex samples like in DKC (the samples distort on No Interpolation) and none of music with simpler samples like Megaman X or Earthbound.

Question: Mind telling us what games are
which discs?

Disc 4's first seven tracks and track 8-77.

I don't suppose there's been any update to this? It really is an amazing collection the way it is, I'm just curious if there's any plans for an update to the popping noises in the DKC2 tracks. Thanks again, !!!!!

Hi Mr. !!!!!,

Thank you for all the work you did for DK! I tried downloading the FLAC version of DKC3 SNES, but the link is broken down sadly. Do you think you could put it back? Thanks a bunch!

Sincerely yours,

MP3 Links for DKC&L M 6 (DKC2 GBA) and DKC&L M 9 (DKC3 GBA) have the files deleted.
Could you reup these please?

Thanks!
