SQEX-20008~9 | FINAL FANTASY Orchestra Album (Limited Edition / Blu-ray) - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/36001)

Comes out today! Though it does contain a lot of old arrangements, there are quite a few new ones that sound spectacular. It would be much appreciated if someone could upload this :)

Can't wait for the new arrangements — especially Phantom Forest and Dalmasca Estersand! The Battle Medley sounds good, too!

Considering that it's only released in Japan, am just wondering whether my (non-Japanese) PS3 would be able to play Japanese BDs before I plonk down a wad of cash on this. >_>

Yes, it works on a US PS3 or any other Region A player. I actually got this yesterday. Very well done and has selections of original game music and other extras from the BDM menus. I heard some of these songs performed live at the 25th Anniversary CELEBRATION concert in Chicago. Awesome experience and this is as close as it gets, at least for audio.

Anyone else only getting 16 bit / 48 kHz through optical on PS3? I can't seem to get the full 24 bit / 96 kHz for some reason with all Linear PCM options selected. I'm using a FiiO E17.

I uploaded the MP3's here: http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/final-fantasy-orchestra-album-2012-320kbps-mp3-125120/#post2237779
For some reason the site won't let me upload a picture larger than 4 KB.

I would like to have this in lossless to carry around but I don't have a BD drive I can rip from. I would be very thankful if someone would be willing to do so.

Glad I could help. After looking into it, I found that the PS3 limits Linear PCM audio from Blu-ray to 16 bit / 48 kHz through optical. Why would they do that? The PS3 settings go a lot higher, but I guess that is only for games...? So I need to get a new Blu-ray player that supports 24 bit / 96 kHz to listen to it in all its glory. I have a FiiO E9K and Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 Ohm on their way, so it should great through those regardless.

Yes, that's a great headphone!

Look forward to this album! Don't have a bluray player myself unfortunately.

Here's what I've found so far? Is this it? Somebody else posted this.

[DHR-Raws] FINAL FANTASY Orchestral Album [BDRip][720P] JPDDL (http://jpddl.com/tv-show/208789-dhr-raws-final-fantasy-orchestral-album-bdrip720p.html)

If so, then the flac can be obtained by demuxing?

Excellent! Great find. Yes, the FLAC is in there. It's muxed into the MKV as 96000khz/24bit audio (which is easily extracted) and for some reason, a few tracks are also in there as already separated FLACs at 48000khz/16bit.

I'm currently getting the torrent version (it's at Nyaa) but it's slow going at the moment. If I think of any way to speed it up, I'll demux and upload this evening.

EDIT:

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at the spectrograph for the 96000khz version. Humans can't hear up that high anyway but even if they could, this is nothing more than a 48000khz master recording resampled to 96000khz for the sheer bloody hell of it.

In summary, whilst 96000khz is completely and utterly pointless, this is physically not 96000khz.

I can confirm that there isn't a single track on here that was recorded at 96000khz. The Filmharmonic recordings were made at 48000khz and most of the older ones at 41000khz - it looks like they've been copied straight off the CD.

I have extracted everything and I will upload - but it will be a downsample to 44100khz (there's nothing up any higher, folks) and to 16 bits.

If you don't like that, feel free to download the torrent and get the files youself. I will not participate in snake oil salesmanship, and I will not waste my time uploading 2.6gb (the size of the 24-bit 96000khz FLAC) instead of 677mb which is how big the downsample is. It is all empty space. Upload/download it on your dime.

Coming up shortly. :)

Just audio, unfortunately.
