That depends on the level of your crush. As long as you still realize and understand that character is not real and hence the affection is just a fantasy, then there's no harm. It's only a problem if that affection becomes a total obsession that overtakes everything else in your life, in which case it would be very wise to seek professional help. But luckily I think most game players can tell the difference between fantasy and reality.

As for if I've ever had a 'crush' on a FF character, I have had a soft spot for Aeris since I first played FFVII back in the late '90s. ;)

I don't see a problem with it. I've had a crush on Tali'Zorah nar Rayya since 2007. Even though she is only a CG image of a enviro-suit wearing alien.

Never had a crush on anyone in FF. Gotta admit that I find all of the main FF females likable, though.
You should know it's just your emotional state. Nothing good or wrong with that since you're not technically taking any action.

It's not wrong because there's nothing harmful about it even if they aren't real people. It is an issue however if it consumes your life and you obsess over them to the point it interferes with your real life. There's nothing wrong with finding them attractive either because that's how they were designed. Most video game characters are designed to be physically appealing and attractive.

FF characters? Sort of, but not really. But I do have a crush on some other jrpg females. For example, Alicia from Valkyrie Profile 2. And it's not only about looks, I find most jrpg girls... don't know how to say it, pure maybe? They are designed to be more perfect than real life girls and that's why they sometimes tickle our imagination. Is this something bad? Imo, no.

It's pretty common I think! I liked Rinoa and Yuna quite a bit when I was younger.

Not at all. Since I was younger I use to have the biggest crush on Kain Highwind. Still love him a lot lol but I mostly crush on the girls now. Serah, Rinoa, Ashe, a few others.
I had a crush on Balthier too, still kinda do.
