This thread is dedicated with much love and respect to the late, great Forrest J Ackerman, aka: "4SJ, The King of Horrorwood, Karloffornia". He regarded himself as "the greatest sci-fi/horror fan the world has ever known, and he very probably was. As a teen, in the 1930s, Forry knew Carl Laemmle, sr., founder of Universal Studios and started his staggering collection of movie poseters, stills, props, and rare first edition book collection. Then, in the late 1950s, with the help of Warren Publishing, Forry became editor-in-chief of Famous Monsters Of Filmland magazine and introduced a new generation of young horror fans to the classic horror movies of two decades earlier. The result created a worldwide phenomenon which has been duplicated many times but never equaled. His almost childlike fascination for his subject never left him, and his articles (complete with corny puns) were part of the magic he weaved which kept his readers spellbound. His California home was turned into "The Ackermansion" and lucky fans were often allowed to visit and have their picture taken with "Uncle Forry" and gasp in awe at his amazing, priceless collection. When Forry died in 2008, he left behind a legacy which will never be forgotten, and among the many film makers who have stated that he influenced their work are none other than Steven Spielberg, John Landis, and John Carpenter. RIP Forry, and thank you on behalf of all FMoF readers who loved you. Forrest J Ackerman (1916-2008)

The image above features Forry and some of his FMoF covers, illustrated by one of the greatest artists who ever lived - Basil Gogos. Bless you, Basil.

Back in the early days of FMoF, there were several pages of record albums which were available at the time - some of which have long since become unavailable. I have already posted several of them here and i have dug deep into my own archive to post what I have left. This thread will pull together all the links I have in one convenient page - some of which you may have already downloaded but there are a few new ones. I will add to this thread when other items become available. I hope my fellow FMoF fans (and any newcomers) will enjoy this.

So many views, so little comments.

I have childhood memories of radio plays especially on Halloween night... and NPR had a program called Ear Play (or something like that) which was fascinating back in the 70s- then they dropped it. I shall indulge in your offerings and I thank you very much!

Thank you, Phideas 1...you and I must be of that pre-Ipod, Ipad, Iphone generation where we were encouraged to use our imagination!

steviebay, you just made my Christmas complete. Thanks so much for these shares. Although I already have several of these I am excited to add to my collection. In fact, I had to pop a set of plastic vampire fangs into my mouth before I started downloading. Creature Features and Famous Monsters! Cheers!

I have the entire collection of CBS Radio Mystery Theater (1974-1982) so if you would like to listen to some episodes let me know I will upload and send them to you.
I recently uploaded per request a 5 part CBSRMT special of Les Miserables that was first aired in January of 1982 .

Thanks for the nice comments and support here. If anyone can suggest any other vintage, FMoF-style recordings which might belong here (even if they weren't featured on FMoF's pages at the time) please offer suggestions and if I can find them, I'll be happy to post them.

Hi all...this is a desperate plea to anyone who downloaded any or all of the discs in this thread, which I started some time back. I recently suffered a major hard drive loss of all my beloved film & TV music which took me years to collect. If anyone could be kind enough to re-up these links and send them to me, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. Steve...

Dear friends and fellow Famous Monster fans. I've been away from the forum for a while now for a number of reasons. Some of you will be aware that a couple of years back I suffered a major hard disc crash and many of these classics were lost. Through various sources (and the generous saved offerings of many here) I will be re-uploading these albums this coming weekend . . . so watch this space!
