There is a monster called Ozma in the chocobo flying park (I think it's the american name), this monster is the strongest of the game, go there and try to kill him.

Ozma IS the hardest boss in FF9. I beat it on my 6th try when my characters were above level 80. There's also a way you can get an advantage by completing the friendly monsters side quest.
Ozma's hard but not as much as Emerald Weapon of FF7.

Who ever thought a multi-colored ball would be the strongest boss in a game? I never challenged him, but if I get bored I might go back and attempt to defeat him.

What level would you guys recommend I be at? I think I have level 65-70 for everyone, and everyone has every skill learned except Quina, whom I never took the time to learn all of its blue magic.

Hmm. I'd say at least level 80, maybe. No, actually 81 because you don't want to be killed by LV5 death. Quina's actually not a bad choice for the battle because if you max the Frog Drop, it's a guaranteed 9999. Freya's another good choice because Dragon Crest is relatively easy to power up. Other good abilities include Zidane's Thievery and Dynes and any of Steiner's more powerful stuff.

I beat it at level 85 Zidane, 80 Amarant, 78 Quina and 79 Freya.
First you need to drain all Ozma's MP, it has about 25000 HP, and every time you damage it, it'll use Energiga, recovering about 8800 HP, use Quina's Magic hammer and cure your party with her skill against status( I don't know the english name), use accessoryes that prevent or absorb wind, darkness and sancta(something like side/reo) and eolo gauntlets and set up alwais rigene, alwais haste and providence, do not use alwais reflect but instead use the ability of Amarant to mirror magics.

Kicked it's ass at level 66, return magic's what saved me. And they so rippped the name off from legend of Legaia, but anyway it was actually one of the stressing fights (and one that involved much screaming at the crappy coloured ball). But most of that fight is which side of it decides to turn up most, when i won it used it's white sides abilities most.

Ozma is such a bad ass, makes that other lad (ya know, the randomly placed end of game boss) seem like a fucking pussy!

Ruby weapon was bitch.

Penance put up a good fight too

I also descovered that you can power up your cards.
More you use them, more you win and more them will empower.
All the cards are able to arrive to a power level like a letter, from the first column to the seventh they have a limit, butfrom the seventh to the tenth, they can arrive to "F", that's right, F is the final letter.

if you find and ''please'' all the friendly monsters .... OZma will be a bit easier .... i too have beaten that guy and surprisingly in my first attempt .... went out with my usual party of Zidane, Garnet , Steiner and Freya .... all Zidane and Garnet did were to heal the other twos and themselves .... Steiner used Shock and Freya used Dragon's Crest ... both skills should guarantee 9,999 (though when one of those 2 were in mini form .... the damage will be 1 and will need Garnet/Zidane to use remedy on them, can't remember which one) and keep on attack until Ozma dies ... simple strategy but quite effective

Ozma sucks. took me a few tries, and maybe a couple broken controllers, but i got him with high 60 levels. haha

Ozma will never compare to the Omega Weapon from F.F.8, now that's tough....

I played with all my characters @ lvl 100 and all my gf's @ 100....I royally spanked him. THe ONLY MILDLY challenging boss.

There were GFs in Final Fantasy IX? I don't seem to recall them...

I haven't fought Ozma, but I found the boss where it was just Zidane and Quina to be tricky... I didn't really concentrate on levelling up Quina too much, and as a result I had to rely on Zidane far too much.

Ozma IS the hardest boss on final fantasy 9 no other can match up to him

Bahamut ZERO - Quina's Earth Shake and Matra Magic are both effective against that boss. Matra Magic reduces an enemy's HP to 1.
