It would be nice if there were a flood of comments concerning this excellent share at high quality. Not only the best score of the year, but the best film of the year. Hooray for Yannis who made this available. ;-)

Anyone gets VINYL edition already? As for me - it's a bit a lot of butthurt in recording.

i hope we also get a longer cut, loved this movie, apparently the first rough cut was almost double length at nearly 6 hours, gotta be plenty of stuff left out that the trifecta of directors would want to put back in.

I doubt it.

Cloud Atlas DVD Release Date February 5, 2013 (http://www.dvdsreleasedates.com/movies/5646/Cloud-Atlas-2012.html)

I think a three hour film is enough... I don't want this to be 'Peter Jacksoned' into an epic-epic. I'd sooner read the book. There is already enough in the film to make it worthy of multiple viewings just to connect the dots. It will be interesting to see the DVD sales and rentals. Possibly this will be the same kind of failure that Blade Runner was in 1982. Only to be praised to great heights 20 years later.

What I'd love in the Blu-ray edition, is to see all stories straight 'till the end, no cuts to other stories, just as an alternate way to see it. Like the Sin City special edition :D

Saw it yesterday, cannot describe how amazing and brilliant it was!!!! And now, I'll shall stare blankly to the computer, waiting for the Recording Sessions to appear someday.

There seems to be a problem with track 21 "Cloud Atlas Finale" on all CD/iTunes releases. (?)

You can clearly hear "clicks" and "hisses" during the whole track.
Sometime I think somebody turns over sheet music. (for example from 1:12)
1:35-1:36 or 2:34 : you can hear a chair creak .. wtf?

anyone else noticing this? - is this on purpose?

Yes, there is studio sound in one track. It is odd. But- I don't care.

I doubt it was on purpose... don't have any idea why they screwed it up. But- I don't care.

Actually, I kinda like those sounds, don't know why :D

I still had no time to watch this movie, but I definately will do so. For now I'm going to listen to its score...
I always enjoyed Tykwer's music a lot.
And, last but not least, thank you Yannis for another hq upload - superb! ;)

It is a wonderful film and really good score.

It might be a good candidate for the Kingdom of Heaven 'roadshow' treatment on disc - by that, I mean add a bit so that the length goes somewhere in the range of 3:00-3:15 with overture (perhaps the Prelude?) and entracte (the Cloud Atlas Sextet). I saw it in November, and boy could I have used a pee break in the middle. But if you happen to live in a country where the film hasn't opened yet (apparently most of Europe and Asia), it's very much worth the time to see it in the theater.

Hehe, you're right. Next time, I'll do that via pm...and not in public. :D

Btt: I listened to the score and as usual, Tykwer did an excellent job! I'm glad Yannis provided this one.

I still Prefer "The Perfume" !!!! ( Question of taste ) in FLAC to ==>

Thread 124310

:)

All is a question of Taste...for ex. my great friend Phideas1, seems to don't like "The Perfume" (as movie)...and it's in my Top 10 Movies ( who is very special Top 10, I admit !!! )

I mean a GOOD SPANK...not a Good Spam :) hahaha !!!!

Thanks Yannis. As always, you sure provide many great scores. I first became acquainted with Reinhold and Klimek for their score of "One Hour Photo" Thought that was so effective, and quite beautiful in some moments, along with the suspenseful scenes.

The song Finale has the most unbelievably loud background noises, turning pages, creaking chairs - from start to finish. What a shame as it is the best track on the album and the noises are too distracting to enjoy the music. I hope this track is re-released in the future minus all the irritating sounds.

Love Pale 3. Some of the best composers out there right now for film music. Can you believe these guys composed Perfume Story of a Murderer, Princess + the Warrior, and also the In My Head song for The Matrix Revolutions? They're so varied and under-appreciated.

Thanks
