Okay i downloaded it and the rar archive was extracted with no problems, so yeah you should re-download it

Im using a mac, so I guess that's why the file won't extract for me (even though it's never not worked before) and all I get is a plain file that won't even extract when i use online extractors.

The files in this archive seem to have a bit of garbage on the ends. Every time a song switches over, there's a half-second of sound. This occurs on multiple media player programs on my computer as well as my MP3 player. Is there an easy way to fix this? Thanks.

You can try to open the songs with a audio program like audacity or sony vegas and then cut the parts you are talking about

Hey guys, just an update on this. It looks like this is going to take me longer than I thought to get a higher-quality version of these files together. If anyone else wants to have a crack at it in the meantime, feel free.

EDIT: Actually, from the look of it I'm not even sure if I can change the output bitrate on Audacity. Anyone know how?

Sounds like it's a double-encode either way, which is not ideal. Did these mp3s come from the iTunes Japan store? Surprised they would release defectively...the ideal thing to do (if anyone has the CD yet) would be to upload the FLACs from the CD, and we can re-encode on our own :). Of course, having listened to the preview, and how great some of the songs are, I'm inclined to purchase. Thanks for your efforts.

Woah, clearly the experts are at work here. Using a fullblown audio editor to just trim 2 seconds of data from a (lossy!) audiofile. And then fucking up even that. Ahhh, the pain...

This is just a simple mp3splt call (mp3splt file.mp3 0.0 EOF-0.2). Voila, garbage from gap (?) removed, no reencoding needed.

I uploaded a "cleaned" rip with some preliminary tags here:

I wouldn't trust it though. The encoding looks fishy (VBR with a similar target br than LAME VBR V0/V1 preset, but no information about the encoder) and the rip was already done incorrectly (I suspect gap handling or something similar).

If you don't have a clue about something, then either just don't do it or at least acquire some basic knowledge about the field and use a proper tool. If you ignore all this, then be prepared to receive criticism, sometimes even harsh one. This is the internet, so don't expect to be handled with the kid gloves.

Don't let anyone tell you that your efforts when doing something, even if it doesn't turn out to be 100% perfect, are useless. Ever. The desire to help others eagerly is one of the most beautiful things one can do and it's very rare, specially nowadays, so that's what really matters. Please, continue to be such a good person because that's the most difficult part of all this. Converting a track with a specific bitrate is not.
