What if there were books based on the ffs? Would anyone read them?
I would. That way you could understand the storylines a lot better because you could go back into the book to re-read it.

Yeah I would, I'd love to read one of the books on a long car journey or train journey. That would be amazing, everything in mind would be so tranquil whilst I read one.

I've got a lot of other books I'd rather read. Another reason I don't like this idea is to do this square would either have to devote time to the books which would be better spent developing their next game, or they'd have to outsource it to an independent author which would then make just a very polished fan fic.

If they were out, I'd probably read them. I often read novelizations of television stories or occasionally movies, so I could probably get into something like this.

of course that would be great. It would have the story of your favorite ff games, and you can read it over. Because after a while the battles just start to get a little tedious

Exept then the books would be huge.

Maybe bigger than Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, War and Peace, Roots or the Bible.

Woah.

yea, they would be massive. What would they do with battles though? would they cut them out and have the characters learn limits and stuff in other ways, or have battles placed all through the book randamly or something. Kind of hard to incorporate them since they r video games made into stories.

Help?? how weould they do that???

Lightning Mage

Well they would probably just include the important battles. Maybe they wouldn't use limit breaks because it's a book. It would be like writing,

After the long battle Cloud was exausted. Cloud learned Blade Beam!

That seems a little silly.

The battle would be like,

Cloud jumped onto the side of Carry Armor and repeatedly struck at it's left arm, trying to release Tifa.

Somthing like that.

I think obviously graphic and gripping descriptions of Boss Battles, but not really much if any time spent on random battles because who wants to read that anyway?

What about FF Manga? I would definetly buy tha manga for any of the game. That would be a better way to show battle than in wirtten words.

Ah, this is the other thread about this! I was wondering where it got to. For those that don't know yet that are interested in this, I've started a petition (http://www.petitiononline.com/ffnovels/petition.html) about it.

What? Only 6 signatures? Hey let's all sign the petition shall we??
I think a FF manga is a great idea too

Mostly it would have to be a novel battle system, where you describe the attacks, because it can't be like a video game: "Lulu attacked Seymore with thunder" for example. Also, some random battles would be needed, like when an area in the story gets over run by monsters, or there are guards in the area, then you would have to run into a few of them. Ya they could fit random battles within the novel, where one attacks them while they're traveling, though just way turned down, like 1, 2, 3 battles maybe per area.
