Just like you can find loki who talks about some FF VI stuff near lindblum air taxi place...

Or the FF II music that you can make play in Blck Mge Village

Zidane also says something along the lines of "Through Squall or Cloud, I shall be there." So yeah, there were quite a few hints dropped in the game about previous FFs...

That and the fact that Biggs, Wedge and Cid are involved in the game in some form in most cases.

Anyways, probably another hint or another long complicated theory that each Final Fantasy is somehow secretly related to one another.

In the english version during the play at the and of the game one of "Marcus's" lines is
"No cloud' no squall
shall hinder us"

Final Fantasy IX salutes just about every FF in one way or another. I love it. It's so much fun to look for little things that are a reference to another FF game. Makes me wonder if there weren't any references to Final Fantasy X in there. I ought to replay it and see.

I'll see if I can ask them to show me but it may be a while before I can tell you because they don't live close to me or their parents are too over protective. that and my parents are mad at me because of my grades. Though i'll try to get it done ASAP.

Actually, not only does it solute every ff, but it was mainly made the way it is to reference to ff1 and the team that worked on it because square was going bankrupt anf ff1 is what kept them alive. So the creators of ff thought that the creators needed something to be thanked by, so they made ff9, thats why there are classic black mages, red mages and the cloak that Garnet(or Dagger, or Sarah) was wearing in one scene at the beginning. Theres also reference to King Edward from ff6: the King Ed Plains.

And if you hadn't already noticed, the most obvious reference is that Vivi... LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE BLACK MAGES IN FF1!!!

I think that all of the Final Fantasy stories are on the same planet but at much, much different times. Sort of like in the Time Machine. You would think that that far in the future the technology would be unbelievable but technology can regress as much as it can progress.

if thats the case than how would zidane know cloud, cloud would be in a different time zone, unless he found a time machine while he was looking for aeris or something

yea your right, but i think that if the worlds are connected its probably something like kingdom hearts, thats what i would think, just my opinion

Well I would probably agree with you but I haven't played Kingdom Hearts so I wouldn't know. I sort of know the general idea of it however.

I know this has nothing to do with zidane knowing cloud but while we r talking about 9 referencing back to other games...while in the forest (part 9) and the band begins to play (to lighten up the mood) the song they play is the same song used in the parade in part 7 (remember cloud dresses up like a Shin-ra soldier)....

that is true. but in almost every final fantasy game, they have the same people working on it. so you'll see sort of the same things over and over again through the makers creative limitations, and or signature.


but i think they just do it so smart, cool, and old school FF fans get it and we love it :D

I think they just put little things like this in future F.F. games to get u thinking....or to put a smile on your face because they r bringing back up past f.f. games....or to get u to go like "man, i miss playing that game......after this i will play it".....lol......

they just do it so they can entertain themselves while making the game because it does get kinda boring programming all that crap and they think to themselves "how many people can i get to talk about this later" so u see they just like to tease u to see what the responce is and they cant know each other there is no sign they dont live in the same world at different times because the map structures would be the same and they are nothing alike that and if they did travel back in time thats just stupid cause in final fantasy 9 their still using hot air ballons for gods sake maybe a little more advanced but still hot air ballons none the less

To be sharp, zidane could never pssibly no cloud, ff9 is set in Gaia, ff7 is set on earth, unless zidane travelled to space and looked for cloud, fat chance

as it has been said and will be said agian it is a joke many games have refernces to other games they are just little things put in to keep you involved

Excuse me if some one else has said this. But FF9 is a mix of all of the ones before to satify the pre FF7 audience so there's loads of things like that in it and I supose there's FF7 + 8 stuff too.

Gaia is Earth, Gaia is the Earth Spirit

Actually both live on Gaia. The difference is the time period. I think Cloud's Gaia is further into the future or the other way around.

ohh yea, if you closely at FF9s map and FF7s map, they have a small resemblence, i think FF 7 is done before FF9 because the continents are spread out and appear to be a little younger.

also, in FF9 they also talk about the Shinra.

i think it was the first disc, cant remember when tho, but i remember it being the first disc.....

all they did was play Rufus welcoming theme in the Evil Forest... well thats about all i cn think of.
