Hello everyone!

First off I wanna say this page is awesome! I'm a big fan of video game music, so this site is just perfect! great community aswell...

I'm searching for ORIGINAL or PROFESSIONAL ARRANGED guitar driven instrumental rock or metal soundtracks from video games. I'm maybe the biggest fan of the Guilty Gear music on the whole planet haha. And I can't stop searching for great rock and metal tunes out of the video game scene...
I give you some other examples, that you know what I'm talking about:
- Guilty Gear
- Ys (some tracks)
- Wanderings (some tracks)
- Battle Gear
- Bloody Roar
- LORD of ARCANA (some tracks)
- Dragonball VG (some tracks)
- FF (some tracks)
- F-Zero (some tracks)
- Mega Man (some tracks)
- Castlevania (some tracks)
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl (some tracks)
- Rusty Hearts
- Outrun (some tracks)
- Sega Ralley

I know there are other games out there with great instrumental rock / metal tunes in there, so if I know one that is not in the List, I would appreciate your recommandation!!

Thanks a ton!

Devil May Cry has a few spread amongst the games. Also, FF7 Crisis Core and Advent Children. Hunter The Reckoning may fit your bill. Powerglove is a good game music cover band that does good metal-ish tracks, check out Tetris, Birth Of A God, or Holy Orders. Dead Rising has a few songs from bands that fit the genre.

This might seem obvious, but I recommend music from the BlazBlue series, especially since you like Guilty Gear music.

I know where you're coming from.

The best example I know of would be Sega Rally 2 (SEGA). There are lots of short snappy guitar blasts. I'd upload the tracks myself, but I gave the CD away a long time ago, along with Sega Rally 1. Oops.

Also worth looking at:

* Some tracks of Motorhead (DICE). Gustav Olofsson I think.

* Carmageddon (the first one which ran in DOS). Fear Factory I think.

I have these two.

Have a listen to Cyber Org OST

Check out the songs of Mintjam. They have arranged some well known songs and have composed original songs of their own. a2c the guitarist can really shred it up and make that guitar wail. Many songs feature his acoustic work as well and gives a really nice balance and tone. The bass is on point and can really lay down the groove. Synth adds dimension to some songs and fills out songs superbly. In most albums vocals are supplied by Terra though most songs are purely instrumental.

The first two albums rock the hardest. They have range in their sound for sure though and at least one album (Potenko academy theme) is what I can describe as "bright" and perhaps a little sweet. There are some groovy chill-out jams in there too.

Some favorites of mine:
Theme of Acrueid Mintjam - The Theme of Arcueid [Melty Blood] - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ln-TWseiaaM)
Strange Jam Mint Jam - Strange Jam - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPob_gUQvH8)

Hmm, what can I recommend...

Well, "Legend of Zelda: Hyms of light and shadows" is a fantastic sountrack for the metal and general rock lover.

As for pure metal, I'd say the soundtrack for Shadow the Hedgehog, if your into that kind of rock like I am, or, now that I think of it, the "Bad dudes Metroid 25th anniversary album" and the "Super Metroid: Reserve Tank VARIAtions" both have some heavy metal tracks I believe, though I'm not positive about that.

I would think there may be downloads for SSM7/DW8's soundtrack now and there is also the voice actor performance CDs too (I would think good quality videos of the Voice Actor stuff from SSM7/DW8 exists on youtube, but with SSM6/DW7 no luck...except for Sima Shi's song off the second disc that Koei released at that time..also the instrumentals from the SSM6/DW7 batch might be hard to find too).

I love that game's soundtrack.

Oh and I also suggest this: Final Fantasy VI: Balance and Ruin | OC ReMix (http://ff6.ocremix.org/) - I think there is some...Dancing Mad's remix is one.
