hi, I have a developing idea for VIII-2 and i'm gonna post my ideas here, comments and ideas welcome

let's see......SeeD has dispanded, the world's at peace. those fromer SeeDs who havn't settled down with another job have become mercenaries (including our previuos friends, at this point at least, i'll come up with different jobs and expand on this idea later). Squall for definate is a mercenarie!

a new threat arises, former SeeDs are being hired on both sides (maybe all three or four sides?). so former friends become enemies.

our old heroes -most at least ; )- are on good side, at least it seems like the gd side at teh start. at a point in the middle or later, they find out they've been fighting for the wrong side. the former heroes (including Squall) who were on the supposedly gd side are re-united with the other heroes who they had been fighting up to this point.

here's a few more ideas, tell em what ya think. **at this i have it set 10 years after VIII** first, here are some character occupations

Squall - Mercenary
Rinoa - Politics (Mayor or somethin')
Zell - Mercenary
Irvine - Mercenary, Married to Selphie
Selphie - Mercenary, Married to Irvine
Quistis - Whereabouts unknown

Continuing on from the opposing sides idea, Squall and Zell are on the "good" side and naturally Irvine and Selphie are on the actual good side - both parties think they are fighting for the right side.

As I said before, midway through the story, Squall and Zell find out the truth about the side they're fighting for. Quistis comes back (after been missing for the past 10 years) with information about the people Squall and Zell are fighting for. At first they don't believe it and the three eventually decide to sneak into a base. Here they find out the truth about what's been going on and they start to find out that there is more to this war than they originally thought, but they don't find everything out yet (gotta leave a lot of twists for the latter half o the story :D).

Around this time, the city which Rinoa is the mayor of, gets attacked/destroyed by the people Squall and Zell were/are working for. So she joins up with the others again and we got a full party again.

What do you think so far?

nah, i'll trade it to Square-Enix for a permanent job with them and FF (my dream come true - if only)

It's pretty cool. Keep adding ideas.
But 10 years seems a little long. Why not 5 or 6?
Would there be any new characters to join your party?

well maybe Laguna and co.

If Laguna was in it there would be another time rift travel thingie, right? See if you can think up new dudes that join or somthing to that effect.

Yeah, some good ideas there.
Wouldn't it be good if you introduced some completely new playable characters, y'know, to make the whole experience more fresh, and so you've got some new types of weapons and moves to gawp at.

The idea is ok, but for some reason not many people like FF8 so I doubt s-e would even consider a 8-2.

It's okay for you to double post if your posts are about a day apart and you don't do it for bumping reasons. Besides, with this being an FF8 forum with not as much activity compared to the rest, you probably wouldn't need to double post.

Seifer could be a character. I know!

Seifer, Rajin and Fujin have become pirates of sorts. They've gained notoriety for there exploits. They behave similar to the Gullwings in the Kilika temple part of FFX-2.

They're one of biggest nuances to the People Squall and Zell are/were working for. Some way through the story, they team with each other, not so simply as that though, a fair bit of story work should be done for their unification of sorts (this should happen after Squall and Zell find out the truth). So you get to play as Seifer (possibly Rajiin and Fujin).

If this game is going to sell then Zell will have died from obesity prior to these events.

every time I replay FFVIII, I get a new idea about a sequel...I really like your idea a lot, I'd love to play it.

and zell's mom needs to buy air freshener...to cover up that nasty fish smell.......anything that makes the air YELLOW can't be too good for your lungs. (i don't know where the hell that came from)

Aren't there actually official plans for a FF8 sequel? Maybe it was just a rumor... :sad:

That entire thing sounds cool except Rinoa in politics???? I don't see that happening because she is ditzy to no end and she's too happy go lucky and would get involved in SOOOO many sex scandals it will make your head spin. Other than that it is quite good.

another thing y dont u have squall an rinoa married cus when u complet the game they get up to a little kissy kissy
