Is anybody getting this? I'm probably going to import next month, but I'd love to listen before then. It comes out on November 21st. The music sounds great so far, from what I've heard in the demo and trailers.

Thanks!

The music definitely sounds fantastic. I've been really impressed.

I was thinking of importing a PS3 copy of the game, but that means passing up on the OST. I'm not sure which to get yet. . .
(The game is certainly winning, though.)

I agree. I didn't expect it to be as good as what I've heard from all the various media on the game. Comes out tomorrow though, yay! I'd say the game is a lot more worthwhile, as it seems to be a lot of fun (judging from the demo). I plan to get both as soon as possible.

Thanks! I've been waiting to hear it all month. I think I'm still going to import it, and then I'll rip it in FLAC/MP3. We'll see.

Edit: Ugh, I can already tell this game is going to need a rip. The title track is missing, as far as I can tell, and some others seem to be missing as well.

Is this the full ost or just a bonus mini soundtrack?

Guilder

I hope someone rips the whole soundtrack. This games music is purely amazing.

Examining the rip given. It is missing a few tracks. The one I'm specifically looking for is the Mission Complete theme. That track is so soothing. I hope someone can upload a full rip, or direct me to that track in particular at some point.

I was also wondering if anyone got a copy of the game yet and noticed a lot of tracks missing?

I held off on ordering for a few reasons, but I think I will be importing soon (in case it needs ripping; in which case I don't mind trying).

I think there are quite a few songs missing (Mission Complete, Title theme), but the OST is kind of bad anyway. A longer cut of each track would be a lot nicer than the minute and a half long versions from the OST. If you do rip the game, that'd be awesome! I haven't gotten it yet, still not sure what I'm going to do.

Definitely needs a gamerip, i've unlocked them and there are a total of 80 tracks in the game and some of the best aren't in the OST.

I have it ripped in the vgm's raw format. My question is what's the proper way to convert to .mp3 using Soundforge? Also not sure how the songs sound like in the game, do they loop properly or does it start from beginning?

What I mean is... when I convert to MP3 what bitrate/format should I use? I usually use 48000hz and 320kbps. The raw format atrac file uses 48000hz btw. When I see certain rips by other people, they always have a shaky bitrate or something, so I want to do the mp3 format conversion right.

Also video samples here:

Thanks to AlphaTwentyThree for the BMS script, along with anyone else involved in the finding of .at3.

i'm no pro but most of the gamerips that i've seen/have are mp3 at 320kbps and 44100 hz. i hope that helps.

i think you should go for it, the files aren't that big anyways and soon or later someone will ask you for a FLAC.

Well the big problem now is that I don't know the tag names for most of these songs. Should I consider just leaving the raw file name? (Ex: "bgm_mn_title.mp3") I could get a FEW tag names, but not all. Since this is the case, maybe it would be better if I leave it to its original names?

Are the songs in the same order as they are in the VR? if you're only looking for songs track name i can help you although they are all mainly in english there are some in runes, maybe you can find a way to translate them.

I did a screenshot of every song in the game

Quality: Highest Quality VBR Stereo Audio .mp3 (converted from Atrac3plus format.)
Tracks: 81
Notes: Ripped by AceKombat. Big shoutouts to AlphaTwentyThree for his BMS scripts that helped convert .at3 to playable .aa3 format + .smpl files, as well as people who took the time in decrypting .at3 playback. None of these accurate song rips wouldn't happen without them. Unfortunately, it took a while to get these songs set up since it used lots of trial and error to even get these songs to play as well as have loops for some songs. The files in this rip uses the game's raw tag name so sorry if it's not tagged correctly. Maybe Kironoku can help :)? Most importantly, the biggest credit belongs to Capcom for their hard work on this great game. Just wish the game had a complete OST :\...

Enjoy!

EDIT: Check Kironoku's post below for fully tagged version of the rip! Thanks for the tags ;)!

It's a VBR, so the tracks will vary. Some play at 196kbs for me, and a lot play at 600+kbs. Which is fantastic~.

Thank you so much, AceKombat and kironoku! I was able to download parts one and two so far, but MediaFire is giving me trouble with part three. Keeps saying that split archiving is blocked. I'll keep trying.

Really appreciate all of the trouble though, seems I was right to bring up a game rip, so many tracks were missing.

Thanks again!

After a certain amount of split downloads a day, I think Mediafire doesn't allow you to download anymore split archives. Then again, if this is the first split (archive/file) that you've tried to download today, it could just be Mediafire being a jerk. ^u^;

Thank you very much! This game has a simple, yet beautiful colored anime style visual supported by a better calibrated gameplay (considering previous Lost Planet titles). Everything is supported by a vibrant and outstanding soundtrack, that much resembles the works of Erina Niwa and Masafumi Takada in Vanquish, and in another parts recalls Shuichi Kobori's Metal Gears Ac!d series' score. Yasumasa Kitagawa composed more than 70 musics for this title, it's an outstanding job compared with all the achievements of occidental composers on this generation' shooters and FPSs! Though it was released only in japan, E.X. TROOPER needs a localization at once, especially due the lack of variety and good design works on occidental game industry. With due publicity work and propaganda, if Capcom highlights all the originality and the idea of the series, E.X. TROOPER can, hopefully, be more popular than the actual new release, Lost Planet 3.
