Here is the OST for Midnight Resistance, recorded from the headphone jack of a Model 1 Genesis. (Technically from the line-outs of an attached Sega CD, but same thing.) The Genesis is an original model with "High Definition Graphics" above the cartridge slot, so there should be no distortion in the sound. Audio was captured using a Behringer U-Phono UFO202 and Audacity 2.0.1. Aside from some volume optimization, this is raw audio straight from an actual console, no emulation. Each track was allowed to play twice, then given a 10-second fade-out. Tracks are named according to the official arcade OST: PCCB-00039 | Crude Buster / Midnight Resistance - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/637)

01 Flood Of Power (BGM 1) 2:56
02 The First Formidable Enemy (Boss 1) 1:03
03 Enemy's Armory 0:24
04 Hope, Disappointment & Counterattack (BGM 2) 2:15
05 In The Forest (Boss 2) 1:04
06 Huge Battleship (Boss 3) 1:04
07 Kao Kao Kao (Last Stage) 2:50
08 King Crimson (Final Boss) 1:15
09 Daybreak (Ending) 0:25
10 Wind Trip (Staff Roll) 0:37

Huge thanks for this, line-in Genesis rips are the best way to go for game soundtracks as the sound chip doesn't seem to sound 100% identical via emulation for certain games.

Just out of curiosity, does a Streets of Rage 2 line-in rip exist somewhere out there? Or if possible, can it be requested? I'm dying to have the authentic thing, as the hi-hats are off on virtually every emulator in existence.

Last year's release of Bare Knuckle Original soundtracks was recorded from the MD instead of the PC-8801 masters by Yuzo Koshiro from previous releases.

Thanks for this one too, Iron Goat.

Actually, I'm working on Streets Of Rage 2 right now, and I should have it up within a week or so.

Oh, Goat, you're killing me with this quality! Being a huge Genesis fan, I cannot give you enough "likes" or "rep" for this work you've put in! Thank you so much for sharing it!

As for Jizames question about SoR Line-Out recordings:

Thanks, we need more Mega Drive (Model 1) recordings!
Youtube is full of badly recorded and emulated MD soundtracks and a lot are unbearable to listen. Even some official albums like the Makaimura Sound Box got wrong recordings of MD Ghouls 'n Ghost music.
