Random stuff on my PSP 3000 model - mostly random FF tracks (OST and arranged versions/fan remixes), but also a fair few Castlevania tracks as well.

I can't really remember what else I have on it without loading it up though, other than miscellaneous 70s, 80's and 90s rock and instrumental stuff - I don't put whole albums on my players but individual tracks, as I'm picky like that. ;)

Also, welcome back Sparky. :D

I haven't added anything new to my mp3 player in over 2 years.

What I mainly listen to off of it is video game OSTs like Silent Hill 2-6, Hotel Dusk: Room 215, Chrono Cross, and Shadow of Destiny.

Some anime OSTs like Gankutsuou, Ghost in the Shell: SAC & 2ND Gig, and Blue Submarine No. 6.

Metal like Dethklok, Scar Symmetry, Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, Gojira, and LOG.

And some more independent, underground favorites like Poperratic/DEUXO, Schpilkas, and Juxtagon

I've got a bunch of video game music. Mostly Nintendo and Bemani stuff. I also have some anime music from Wolf's Rain, Baccano!, G.I.T.S. S.A.C., and some J-Core like HARDCORE TANO*C, and Sketch Up! Records. I love psytrance so I've got some of that too. Mainly full-on and night. Also have some non vgm and anime music, but not much since I'm very picky about what I listen to outside vgm, but it's mainly psytrance and electro music.

Some Queensryche at the moment.

What album? They are my favorite progressive metal bands of all time...well before the American Soldier album anyway.
They shot themselves in the foot getting rid of Chris DeGarmo who was their chief lyricist and after axing Geoff Tate they are dead in my eyes.

I think we're practically on the same wavelength. Spooky.

I had all their stuff up to Take Cover. I've given some of it away since, including Take Cover. I have to admit, although I don't like Bono, QR's live cover of Bullet the Blue Sky was awesome - the best thing on that CD - and a better rendition than that done by U2! Go figure.

Op Mindcrime and Empire were mega. But after a dry spell of, what, five or six years, their Promised Land album was a bit routine. I think they made too much money on Empire and put their feet up.

The last thing I bought, and kept, was the Remastered Queensryche album. It has the four original tracks, nice and crisp, plus 10 bonus tracks recorded live at Nihon Seinen-kan, Tokyo in 1984. [If you haven't already got that, it wouldn't bother me to upload that for you, and anyone else who fancies it].

The last Queensryche product I bought was the Revolution Calling (http://rateyourmusic.com/release/comp/queensryche/revolution_calling/) boxed set and it was fantastic! It had every studio album from the Queensryche EP to Promised Land and each disc had bonus tracks. It also came with an interactive PC game called Promised Land but I never played it. Those bonus tracks you mentioned are indeed the same ones on the boxed set version of the EP.

To elaborate on my last post, I have been a QR fan ever since hearing the EP on a cassette a friend of mine had way back in 1982. I have seen them live twice...1986 on their Rage for Order tour and in 1990 on their Empire tour and they were one of those bands who really shined live. When I heard that Chris DeGarmo left (not Michael Wilton) I knew it would be a bad thing for the band an I was right. The lyrics became overly repetitive which I cannot stand from any artist and it was clear that the chemistry had changed. Then when the voice of QR left last year I threw up my hands and said that was it for me. A friend of mine sent me a youtube link showing the new singer doing nothing more than imitating Geoff Tate and to me since two key members have left it's nothing more than a tribute band.

Well that's interesting. I think you knew 'em way before anyone I know - if you know what I mean. Excellent.

You can't have those two guys leave and expect the band to be the same. These things happen. You never know maybe he/they'll come back in 20 years time in a similar fashion to Rob Halford.

I know it's a bit odd posting here, but hey, we are in the NOW. If you haven't heard the first Roko album proceed to download it... (Personally, I think it's a gem).

I'm guessing that's why no one at MGM wants to touch the SG franchise.

These all have FLAC capability:

Sony Walkman F800

If I were to move to a portable FLAC player I would pick the Sony Walkman F800.

Coby has a decent line of portable players for a decent price.
Price kicks iShit's prices.
Coby USA website: mp3/mp4 players (http://anonym.to/?http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=pcat&pcat_id=2001)

I have the Coby M828-8GB thingy.
Supports FLAC, AAC, MP3, other formats.

Even has a really cheap video player but it requires all videos to be converted to 25fps and some other junk.
The video player was not as great as I had thought.

Save your money on video playback and get their regular line.
Unless you like touch-screen.
Had mine for a couple years and still kicking good. *knock on wood*

EDIT: big downside to Coby: no real support.
It's not easy finding documentation.
Keep the cardboard display that's part of the packaging because that's literally all the info you need.
There's no real manual or online support.

Just play music. The end.

Oh cool. I have a Phillips GoGear too. I don't store FLACs on it since they take up like 5x more space than an mp3 file. But with my new car, I can hook it up to it, so I might have to try to play FLACs to see if there's a difference. I have 8GB with about 1.25GB left so I might as well try it.
