I still have access to the MF file. I have no e-mail or strikes from them. It is still logging downloads. So from what I can see, there is no problem. I cannot see what you see, which is why I was discussing it to figure out the issue. But hey. From now on I will just post and forget.

On a different note, I just do not believe MF identified and flagged the file within hours. This is happening to several members, and I am wondering if someone here is reporting them/ Especially as MF is one of the last really easy fast hosters.

Works for me. Saw the TV series as a young teen and was my first exposure to Vangelis. Got this rare double CD at Amoeba in Haight-Asbury in Frisco, then lost it during my cross country move escaping a toxic marriage. Thanks so much Amanda!

Because 192 is the very best bit rate I could find it at. If I could find higher, I would post it. It was damn hard for me to find at 192. I have a single disc version @ 320. And I posted the 2 cd Vangelis only set, but that is vbr and rarely past 192 either.

looking at soulseek, I have qued the Vangelis 2 cd @ 320, and looks like this set can be had @ 256. I will update when I can. They are not currently Downloading, so I have no idea how long it will take.

I've never seen this album over the Internet in a higher bitrate than 192kbps. I even can't find it in stores anymore to buy it and make a FLAC copy.

amazon sells it used for 100 dollars give or take, and over two hundred some odd new.

That's a lot of money for a 2cd boxset. All the music from this rel�ase can be found in other Vangelis releases, except Comet 16 (and the classical music, of course). I've seen a post in this forum with 6 unreleased themes from Vangelis composed for Cosmos A Special Edition which includes "Comet 16" and another really good unreleased cues.

Yea. And, atmospheric sound effects are incorporated into this as well. I need to start a thread. I have this, an album that is basically this, yet not. It is 18 tracks and from '81. It has the same title as the set here. I think it is the original release, while this is the "digitally remastered collector's edition". That one I have @ 320 now. There is also the 2 cd Vangelis album, that I can now upgrade to 320, and a single disc Vangelis. The single disc set runs 45 min, in longer suites. The 2 cd is 80 min.

Yep, I agree, We need to start a thread to see I we can put in right order all the music from Cosmos.

I know that album (18 tracks), it was a vinyl from 1981. The music differs a Little from the rest. A know originally the Cosmos TV Series had a soundtrack, but when they were released in VHS in late 80's or early 90's (I can't remember very well 'cause I was a little kid) they had to change the soundtrack because problems with copyright.

In 1986 to celebrate the comet Halley event, the series were re-released but severely edited and modified (Cosmos A Special Edition), never released. I saw a poorly quality asian versi�n of this and it had a lot of different music composed exclusively, I remember a version of Heaven and Hell (the Main Title cue) with a totally different arrangement... I'll try to find that videos to share them here.

The same happened later with the Special Collector's Edition DVD release of the series (in 2000 I think), so they changed again the music an released this 2cd collector's edition, but included the Comet 16 cue because it gained recognizance as "end credits" between the fans.

I think we can arrange a super soundtrack or something like that with the original Vangelis themes from the original releases instead of the edited tracks from this Cosmos's releases.

I have found a blog, apparently there were 6 different edits for the series, most due to editing for time (for showing in repeats) and copyright. Yes, the special edition for Haley's was all completely new arrangements for the show, with comet 16 being the only piece to get an official release. For the dvd, the score was again redone. But according the the blog, this dvd HAD AN ISOLATED SCORE....O.O....

Woaa... I have the DVD's and never found something like that. But who knows... my set has only the English 2.0 and Spanish 1.0, maybe another edition can have it. I had some of the VHS's, but now they barely show some image or sound. The time has done it's work with the tapes, but I remember different music in several scenes than the one can be heard on DVD's.

I found a guide to the music in each episode (http://cosmic_voyager.tripod.com/cosmosindex.htm). It should be usefull to seek for the music on every Vangelis release.

Something is definitely going on. Although no one can access my original link, I can, it is still there, though since I have replaced it, no more hits on it have shown. Still, more than 50 downloads on the original link? Weird. I kinda suspect some posts are getting reported though.

The new link takes me to file that is slightly bigger than the original, so I'm going to be interested in seaing if I can now get that Missing track from CD1.

As for the original album release, I have this, but it's not been played in about 25 or so years and I don't have a player for it either. Having said that I belive I have a downloaded version of the album on my external drive, so will have to look at this along with the original 1981 relase to see if it is the same.

I would love to see a complete or a definitive version of music from the programe including the classical bits, as it was the classical music that made me say yeah ............. Now this is what I can call music, peaceful, relaxing, timless.

The new link is correct, and is 190mb, not 117. This is not missing any tracks, nor was the other. There are three albums officially released. One is posted also and is a 2 cd set of just the Vangelis stuff. One is an original release of music from the show that contains both the Vangelis and and classical tracks, but has been re-released in several forms. I have two, and I thought they were different. One is the original release, with the cues mixed together as suites, and one is separate tracks for each cue. Then there is this set, which is basically a remastered and expanded version of the original album.

Found some pieces here, some there, but nothing in the same file that had all the wonderful music that I remember from the TV series...until one day that I had enough material to do the Complete Music of Cosmos...and this is the result:
