Interesting post, should be noted that (1) this is a fan project from a very young composer but NOT associated with ZERO (despite the similarity of naming) (2) the project is made using sample libraries, not live musicians performing the music (3) it is more accurately a small ensemble than a symphony during most of this.

Everything you said is true, but in my opinion it still sounds great.

I'd definitely check it out if you're a fan of Pokemon.

I can't make it through the entire thing without falling asleep. It is very slow and undeveloped musically. I can see the interest for fans, especially the nostalgia value, but it doesn't do very much for me (even though I was quite the big pokemon fan as a kid). My purpose is to inform those who might be attracted by this thinking it is a professional symphony. The very fact that he has so many different tracks here and doesn't bother to combine themes together in multiple tracks makes it more of an attempt to create an orchestral version of the soundtrack rather than a symphony.

I'm also wondering, considering he is selling this, whether he licensed it from Nintendo. I'd hate to be the one to shut down a fan project but making money off sales of something like this without authorization is a whole other thing entirely. EDIT: Nevermind, it seems Joypad sets up all the licensing for fan-made covers of game music to ensure things are legit

I should have posted a bit of info about it, sorry about that. But I was thinking that whoever was interested/requested it had known what you pointed out already.

He used some actual instrumentalists for it though.

Well from what he posted on the web site, I thought it was just sample libraries.

Only in the form of a sample library (pre-recorded actual players), but still samples. There is a big difference between having the music performed with everyone in the same room and combining samples.
He picked the people himself.

No problem on your part, I just posted info for those who had no idea this was coming. I see the word Symphony and I immediately get certain expectations so I figured I'd clear it up for those who have similar thoughts.
