He wants "the mod Sparky" to come and close the thread.

There are thousands of threads with dead links since 2006,
but these threads don't disturb neither Pony nor "Sparky".
It seems that only Yannis' threads must disappear.
It didn't cross your mind that Yannis may return tomorrow?
He will be obliged to create new threads because a mod
was obviously biased and closed 42 of his threads so far.

I have to agree with Petros. Closing a thread is not nice. A lot of time and energy was put in creating (all those) threads. Yannis has been away for some time and considering Petros' writing there must have been a reason. Yannis made a lot people very happy on this glorious forum. Let's keep his threads open and wait and hope for his safe return.

And to Ponyo: keep up the good work, since you have made a lot of people happy too.

It seems that only Yannis' threads must disappear.

From what I read, Yannis is retired.
If he wants his threads re-opened, he need only PM me.
It's only logical.

I don't check every thread to see if the links are active.
Just known people.
I have closed out other threads.

There are have been nice people around to re-up Yannis' links and keep them alive.
Credit is given where credit is due.

So I don't know where all this illogical blithering comes from.

New threads for new links makes better sense so that non-regular members can easily find the link in the first post where the OP is still active and participating.

I can't verify every thread. I am human.

EDIT: Also, since this has become an active argument amongst people, I'm stopping it now before it gets out of hand.
Closing threads is a matter of practicality.

Link visibility, management, and distribution will be easier.
