I'll leave the current ones open for now so that the discussions going on within them don't get put to a sudden end, but any new threads that get created pertaining to the AC thread from here on out will be closed. Ive done some "brain storming" and it came to me, isnt a fenrir a type of Wolf in the Final Fantasy series???? In FF7 Cloud was always seen as a lone wolf, and in AC cloud has the Wolf rings and ear rings and in another post about Clouds bike it was found that his bikes name is Fenrir meaning Wolf???? so post wat you think of my theorys plz.

You should put this in official AC thread, before the admins erase this :D . I think it has something to do with RedXIII, or he could just like wolfs.

I had the full original two min. AC trailer (including subtitles, good sound and video) on my PC a week ago. Somehow it got deleted. Since then, I've combed the web for that version of the trailer, but to no avail. Does anybody know a link for this version?

Yeah, throughout FF there is underlying symbolism a lot of people fail to notice. If you notice in FFIX specifically, Eiko comments how she doesn't want to be alone anymore, and her first summon is Fenrir. Squall, Eiko, and Kihmari are arguably lone wolves as well along with other FF games.

This topic might be better fit in general FF or FFIX, but it doesn't neccessarily need to be moved.

Fenrir was the wolf that ate Odin. See Norse Mythology.

FF: Advent Children will almost definately be released in Europe and the USA. What's not sure is if there'll be an official english dub or just subtitles. But it'll get here, don't worry. If it wasn't planned to come here they'd have said already, to gauge the responce.

I'm not sure about the UK, but in Australia, FF7 fans will probably have to wait until Square-Enix gets an Australian publisher - the most likely candidate is the one who publishes all Australian Anime, Madman Entertainment. The only problem is, because Madman handles all the DVD creation in house (they only get sent the movie itself), there will most likely be a large delay - possibly up to a year after its release in America, before we see it here.

i'm kinda of a newbie, and i don't have internet at home, so i gotta use the service provided by my school. where did you guys find all these facts (wolf badge, earrings, etc...) and where are the best trailers for AC. btw, how many of you think amazon.co.uk is trustworthy, cause i found FFVII (at last) after 2 years of searching (mine dissapeared somhow), but i don't wanna spend a lot of money and discover that it's a dud, or just in really bad state.

As far as I can tell the "man in white" could possibly be Hojo, only, really crippled, but still alive. The short haired guy is a clone and cloud is cloud, sephiroth is sephiroth. I'm sure that there are some flashbacks. I've seen screens of barret, vincent, and Tifa. There was also a rumor I found out about and it said something about Aeris/Aerith comming back as well.

In my opinion, I think that the people that are fighting Cloud are all just clones of Sephiroth. I also think that the person in the wheelchair happens to be Sephrioth. Keep in mind, this is just my opinion. The only way Sephrioth could clone himself however is to have someone help him. That means that someone ,like Professor Hojo maybe, could be helping him. Whoever he is fighting, I think that everyone will agree when I say that his fighting abilities looked very impressive!

Well if i remember correctly, Rufus is dead. His office at the top of the shinra building was hit directly by the energy blasts of the Diamond Weapon. The explosion didn't look very survivable, and many citizens spoke of how shinra and the world would be doomed if Rufus were to die. But that aside, I think you guys are right that the virus is the same that Jenova used. The finding of jenova's head probably has something to do with it. As for the man in the wheelchair, it would be too easy to say sephiroth, I think its gotta be Hojo. Only this time his clones show a little more respect for their true father. But again this is purely speculation, there only a couple true facts that we know right now. Guess now we just gotta wait:confused:

That's a good theory, Cecil. I like that idea also. There have been many suggestions to who the mystery person in the wheelchair is. But,... thinking about it, didn't Cloud and the gang kill Hojo in the battle where he changes forms.

Yeah your right, thats the only problem i've got with Hojo being the guy in the wheel chair. After they "killed" Hojo, there wasn't even anything left of his orginial body. Now that i think about it either way the storyline is gonna be pulling some strings. It would be tough to make the movie follow every small detail of the game. I just hope it turns out better than their last movie attempt:notgood: , which from what i've seen so far doesn't look like it should be a big concern.

Best game in terms of gaining support for the FF series, definatly. My personal favorite, that one's gotta go to FF4, just something about playing that game as a little kid still gives me the chills. But i definatly think they picked the right FF game to base their movie on. Its one of the few, besides FF6 maybe, that leave us wanting to know more and answer our unanswered questions. I can't wait.

Ontopic: I'm not really sure what trailer I saw- it was a shaky-cam trailer that someone at my work gave me. It had cloud on the motorcycle and all that jazz. Are there a lot of differnet trailers? Cause I'd love to check them out.

Also, can someone give me a link to the photoshopped Aerith pic? I really want to see it, if only for my own amusement.

There are 3 trailers that have been released and one translated into English. A new trailer comes out in 2 days so, keep an eye out for it. Maybe it will reveal more about the characters to be in the movie.

At the moment, I'm gonna reserve judgement in regards to FFVII AC, until I've seen it. Only way I can formulate a fair call of it, but from what I've seen of it, on a couple of trailers, it looks... interesting, yes?

No one has a exact guess. Everybody I've seen post a statement changes their mind some time later. Same goes for me. I am leaning more to the guy in the wheelchair being Hojo.

Yeah, it might be Hojo...heck it even might be Professor Gast or President Rufus. But I think it might be Sephiroth or Jenova.

I mentioned it in another room, but no one answered. How do you pronounce Sephiroth? I've heard that the 'correct' way to pronounce it is -se-fee-roth- but I always called him -sef-roth-. I haven't played Kingdom Hearts, but I know he's in that so if you've played it and you know, help me out.

I can't wait for FF:AC. I have a movie of it that someone must have recorded at E3 or something. But it's not very good quality. It's also mentioned in some of my gaming magazines. They're remaking FFVII and the film is going to be included with it or something like that. I don't know if that's correct. Which is why I'm here. Is it? I also heard it's going to be limited edition. In any case, the trailer(s) are awesome. Sephiroth is looking especially sexy. ^^

This is not exactly true there's no way you can tell you never saw the body and Shin-RA never mentioned fully that Rufus was dead, he might've been badly hurt and ran off somewhere to keep his head down for a while, allowing him to recover and maybe come back.

I'd like to share my personal theory on this "Star Scar Syndrome" thing.

In the game...
Sephiroth originally wanted to summon Meteor to damage the planet. Then he planned on absorbing the energy the planet would try to heal itself with. This, due to the size of Meteor, would have to be a LOT of Lifestream. But...what would happen if there wasn't enough to fix itself with?

Aeris (most likely) was the reason the extra Lifestream came out to try to stop Meteor when Holy failed. Maybe there's a side effect to using so much of the planet's lifeforce. It was already "slowly but surely" (to quote Barret) being drained out of the planet by Shinra, so what if the strain of both that, creating the Weapons, and fending off Meteor was just too much for the planet to handle?

The Lifestream is compromised of life, right? Therefore, it stands to reason that if it began to run dry, it would need more life. Through Bugenhagen's visual demonstration, we discovered that the souls of all living things on the Planet are what essentially compose Lifestream. And if the Lifestream needed more life, where would it take it from first? Surely not the innocent wildlife of the planet.
It would take it from the humans.

So...what I'm saying is that perhaps the Lifestream itself is what caused the "Star Scar Syndrome". I don't think we know yet whether this disease or whatever actually kills people. If it doesn't, perhaps the Lifestream takes a bit out of each person's soul. Not enough to kill, but....
It would be especially ironic if this was true, considering how the Planet would be doing exactly the same thing to the people at the end of the story as what the Shinra were doing to the Planet at the beginning of FFVII.


Where exactly Jenova fits into the mess I haven't really decided yet. In any case, an Planet with a weakened Lifestream should be much easier to take over, like a virus or bacteria strain is more likely to conquer an human or animal with an already weakened immune system.

Any ideas about my theory? And/or has anyone brought this particular theory up before, or am I the first?

I saw Midgar in the logo too and in all the trailers they are in Midgar and a forest unless all of the scenes in midgar is a flashback or you could be right too.

something i was wondering about....midgar is destroyed....you can see that clearly enough in the shots with cloud fighting the white haired guy....so how does cloud walk through a compleltly untouched church? i mean...those stain glass windows arent broken..the pews arent strewn about....maybe that bit is a flashback? questions...questions that need answering!

well in the game you see the church with flowers but nowhere else in midgar can grow them so y shouldnt the church be still ther....well i'm a catholic and think that god would protect any religous house, wel its jus a video game but still...anyway

The church was a holy place and all but it meant something to Aeris, correct? So through her death Holy was summoned, prehaps then through her memories Holy knew what needed destroying?
Aeris would've wanted the church and her home to be left alone also humans and life itself to be kept safe, so Holy saw in her the danger and knew what it had to do.
Thats my opinion however i agree that it could've been a flashback, but Cloud get's attacked by the guy just after he leaves the church, obviously Cloud went there for something and mysterious man followed, trap?:confused:

Everybody seems to think that it probably will come out in Europe i've already asked, and i also had the problem with the trailer downloads, all i could find were screenshots of the trailers.

The Advent Children are a group of "chosen" children, and the main point of the story is to "rescue them." The opening lines in the movie are spoken by a little girl, and they are something like: "Once upon a time, there was a warrior who defeated the evil known as Sephiroth. His name was...Cloud Strife."

- Every character from the game will be featured in the film, and the reason they have not been shown is because they are still working on them. Overall, work in the graphics department is 10% complete, and the characters will be constantly evolving. In other words, the characters we've seen are not their final designs. 20 principal characters will be featured in the film, and some confirmed names are Tifa, Barret, Red XIII, Yuffie, Vincent, and Aeris ("in some form or another").

- The Turks may also make an appearance.

- Cloud doesn't only fight people, he will also face some "terrible monsters."

Then for the Sephiroth thing, on the last page put up it says:

Then there appeared 3 young men in which Cloud sees a reminicing of Sephiroth, who he once defeated.

These are only theories though. So most likely what it is saying is that these are rumors. Not enough information here to distinguish it from any other released information by Square Enix.

And about the Sephiroth thing. I don't think it meant 3 clones or whatever. Mabye just 3 people who he sees Sephiroth in or whatever. I don't think they'd be actual clones. The description on that last part is kind of vague. I wouldn't really start talking about things with such little information. I like it too. I wouldn't really call them clones though. Blah... well I guess we should have established that by now, right?

A lot of people are very hyped up about this now. Well, at least I know I am. I can't wait until it comes out in North America. I know I'll be buying it as soon as it hits the shelves. That way I'll get to watch it so we can actually find out what all of this is about. So I'll wait either until then, or until Square Enix releases more information about this. Sheesh, what a kick.

I don't know if it is going to be in thetres, but if it is I would see it and a lot of other people would too.

I'm pretty sure its being released in Japan first. Looking at most of the posts, the movie is supposed to be done somewhere in the Summer of this year. Let's hope it does come out.
Likely, Europe might get it first before the US since the US's own SquareEnix have to think about licensing it or maybe releasing it in Theaters.

The person in the wheel chair is either Sephiroth or Jenova, and mystery fighters are just advanced clones. In the trailer where Barret, Cloud, and Vincent are fighting the two clones, they are in The Forgotten Capital (City of Ancients).

The second meteor did not really hit the planet, but was stopped by Aerith and 'Holy'.

technically holy helped meteor, it was the lifestream that stopped it

and there could be another jenova that came from the last meteor

first post so brace yourselves �I�ve done a remix of the new advent children trailer, I mean its a still a trailer for final fantasy sevens movie but I�ve tried to match up the visuals with some really cool music, simply put its quite a fine little movie :D

anyway id love some true final fantasy fan feedback as everyone I�ve showed it to so far has been way too nice and polite :)

The trailer with the subtitles is from ADVENTCHILDREN.NET. To sum it up without the offensive talk..... you don't know what your talking about!!!! Cloud takes care of an orphanage, he does not have a son, and Sephiroth is locked deep inside a planet, so I guess if some women came to him, and they did it deep inside the planet, while Sephiroth was encased inside a crystal you might be right.:notgood: lol too funny.

Advent means an important arrival. Look at the subtitled trailer post 12 or so posts up. It talks about Jenova's head and the reunion.

advent children is not abou cloud's son. It takes place two years after the game if he had a son it would 2 years old. And i am very glad vincent is in it because I love vincent!

I dont know how feasible that is, but it's what I think. All I know for sure is I HOPE there is some kind of battle between Cloud and Sephiroth at some point in this movie. :)

I don't give a shi'ite whose voice they use for the movie as long as it's a good voice. Lance Bass has a good voice for Sephiroth because he talks all low. I'd rather it be him than someone that talks like they're going to hit on me, like whoever did Seymour Guado's voice in FFX. (The wedding was a sham, he really wanted Tidus and everyone knew it)

I don't care if it's a pop star or not, just as long as they have a good voice. Also, I don't care who you are, Mandy Moore or not, if someone asks you if you want to do the voice for a character from Final Fantasy, "No" isn't an option.

Also where did all this Tifa being dead crap come from? Between the ending of VII where they're on the highwind to a few months ago when Advent Children trailers came out was there something I missed where they said Tifa died? How do you people know she's dead? Did you just continue the storylines in your head? That is a fair assumption but I have another that is a little different. I think that the wheel-chaired man IS Sephiroth because at the end it when it doesn't actually show him dying, how do you know he didn't fall into the Lifestream? If he did, remember when Cloud did and he was in a wheelchair and didn't show signs of life? Maybe the same thing happened to Sephiroth except with him somehow the mental side of him survived.

hey i love all of your theories but here is one of my own the dude in the weel chair is sephiroth and he did fall into the life stream and he is temporally disabled and will be in full power bye the end of the movie for the final show down with cloud

i mean come on u cant have final fantasy 7 with out sephiroth

As i stated before it would be totally unfair if Tifa dies, Square killed off a female character in mumber 1 they cannot do it again, prehaps..... Prehaps whoevers in the wheelchair has SSS and he's using the clones to achieve world domination and destroy Cloud before he returns to the planet. So prehaps the clones don't really want to kill Cloud merely catch him, for whomever they serve.... Which through this theory whould kinda have to be Sephiroth... Hmm...:whatever:

Actually, no...Angel is right. In the game, you run from Reno and the guards through the back of the church, and in the TOP there's a hole. In the main part (the part shown in the pic), there's no hole except the hole made by Cloud crashing through the roof over the flowers. That entire wall that's destroyed is new.

i said that i thought cloud was walking through a untouched church, i hadnt seen that shot, and i was just going on what i saw in the trailer...it looked like he was walking through a pretty neat and tidy church, but then again, it was a short scene.

Maybe the church isn't destroyed in the trailer because maybe that scene takes place before it was destroyed. Kind of like another flashback similar to the flashback of Sephiroth and the incident at Nibelheim.

I wonder if the US and European releases will have 2 new monsters? ;)

I hope it doesn't revolve around Aeris:s she was slightly annoying in the game, and if she's actually found and she's all alive again then her whole role was pointless in FF7 and it would just be very disappointing.

Hmm...I hope it does revolves around Aeris. I found her the most useful in limit breaks and magic. Tifa was just annoying and hated her spinning revolving limit breaks...made me sooo mad when I get a lot of misses...And anyway...The reason of Aeris dying was a main point in the game...
Hopefully the sub characters like Vincent and Yuffie can get a vital part in the movie :p :cool:

No, Aeris' Limits were all quite good from my experience. If you got her up quick, they made life a lot easier. Oh well, to the topic at hand. >AHEM< SSSWWW333333TTT!!! Vincent and Cid are in it. I knew the one "mysterious" character had to be Vincent, and I think I remember seeing a character that looked a lot like Cid fight who's pictured as the main villain in one of the trailers. I couldn't be sure though. I don't remember it very well, and my comp won't play video right now because my Sound Card recently went out. I don't know why the Sound Card is affecting the video, but oh well. (Hmm... I have wondered off topic again. *shrugs* Oh well.)

Vincent must play a large part in the movie. I was dissatisfied at them leaving showing nothing of his past except for the Waterfall Sidequest. It just didn't seem like enough, ya know. Like it was only 1 piece to the puzzle.

Speaking of locations of events in the trailer like the Sleeping Forest, I have two questions/theories. The church that Cloud is walking through is the one that him and Aeris escape through the roof from the Turks right? And also, what locations do you think will most likely appear in the game? I know Midgar of course and probably Nibehlhiem from the flashback and stuff but where else? I think they might show the Ancient City which would be cool because that place would look really really cool on DVD. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Also, if the do how do you think they will portray Limit Breaks? Something to the effect of the little girl in the Beginners Hall in Sector 7 is what I think but I would like to know what others think.

Tetsuya Nomura said the main place in the film is hidden in the logo ... so ... if you look at the logo you will notice all the sectors of MIDGAR ... so if i am rite ... it will be mostly set in MIDGAR ... hopefully Limit Breaks are there ... just have to wait to summer... :D

I havent seen any pics of Aeris from AC. Are you just talking about where Cloud lowers her into the water? or actual LIVING pics. I saw Vincent, Barrett, Cloud (obviously), Sephiroth, and those three guys and the cloaked wheelchair person. But I didnt see any of Aeris or Tifa. Thanks.

I never said I saw Tifa (she had better be in AC, though) but I did, in fact see Aeris. Unless it was a damn good hoax, or just square pleasing some fans, she'll be in there at one point or another, aside from Cloud lowering her into the water.

I don't think there are any pics of Aeris in any of the trailers unless you have one that noone else knows about but I'm sure there will at least be flashbacks of her.

That's probably what I saw a pic of (in a flashback of some sort). Unfortunantly, I don't know where it came from, someone sent it to me via AIM connection. I know it's weird that I don't have it, but that the way it is.

They are called Avatars and put one on go to your userCP and go to Edit options and then to the bottom of the page and there you can change your Avatar. i think the symbolism of his bike being called fenrir is being taken a little too far. I respect the peeps who know the story behind the name (i sure didnt) but i HIGHLY doubt that it plays a significant role in the story. I mean...its a bike...he rides on it...you can draw all kinds of parallels to what we know of the story but i cant remember a square product of late that actually made good on their borrowed names...ie) the fenrir summon from FFIX had no relevance to the norse mythology.

I think the idea of a good FF becoming a movie is one of the smartest things square has ever done because not only do we get to see the new look on Cloud they get to prove that they are still number1!! but that's my opinion so if you don't think so sorry.:D

Say, does anyone out there know if the graphics and gameplay will be updated for the PS2 version of Final Fantasy VII? I've heard they would be updated drastically, but I was also told recently that the director of the remake quit the project, which has put it in a rut of sorts.

Urm. I'd kept up with Advent Children up until about three months ago, then lost my computer. Whats new with it ?

So according to this magazine they are releasing a updated PS2 version of FF7 only for the latest consoles. (PS2, Gamecube X-box)

1. They are not having anymore deals with other companies after crystal chronicals because square asked to put FFTA on GBA and so Nintendo asked if they could have a game for the gamecube and Crystal chronicals was born so that means the deal is fair and no more games will be released on any other consoles.

2.Also The maker of FFAC announced at a game festival that they were not making another game of FF7, and that they made a sequel to FF10 because they still had all the data stored but FF7 they couldn't because they don't have the data stored and if they were to make Prequel, sequel or a remake they would have to start it as a new game wich would not produce as much profit as a brand new FF with new characters and story line would.

3.Why have they shown so many pictures of FFAC but none of this remake. If they were to make a remake that was to come out at the same time then surely it should be almost finished for a Japanease version seeing as FFAC is out in Japan in June and we still have no trailers or pictures of this so called remake of FF7.

I would like them to make a remake but trust me they won't because the profits won't be big enough. . ^_^

EDIT: just reading your post again it says that they are releasing FF7 without any updated gameplay or graphics. S basically you just said that when you but FFAC you get a copy of FF7.

this is what i heard: they are definitly bringing ff7ac out here(for those uncertain about it), IF it makes enough sales, they will be remaking ff7 for the ps2, graphics and all, IF that makes enough sales, they might consider remaking ff8 and 9 for the ps2 as well(or ps3, whatever is out at the time...)

My thoughts on the Mystery Man is this. He could possibly be Zack but then there's the idea of Shinra's son Rufus i beileve correct me if im wrong. I can only point out the people he could be I cant tell nobody who he is .

First off, this is my first post...wohoo!

Now, to the point: The "guy" in the wheel chair. The child that looks like sephiroth(the main advent children I assume, he is the one in the middle and he is the one shown the most) holds his/her hand kneeling down. This is not only a sign of respect, but it looks like a son-parent bond salute. Now...there can be a thousand possibilities. Sephiroth and Genova rings a bell(after all, she could be protrayed as his grandmother, in a wheelchair...). It could be Lucrecia, it could be the mad scientists(although he turned all whacko on shin-ra and the person on the wheelchair doesn't quite look that bulky. It could be..I don't know, Aeris...the author of his parent's destruction, thanks to Holy. Zack, well I don't think it is Zack...Zack doesn't fit anywhere..he is a skinny character(not literally...)...made purely to fill the script. Now...the fact that it is FFVII we are talking about, doesn't mean it HAS to be a known character..it can be a totally different character... hell it can be a teaser..made only to speculate! We know Cloud "works" at an orphanage, so maybe it is one of the people in the church during an event in the movie or something(If children seek Cloud, they will end in the orphanage sometime)... The movie is less than one hour and a half...there is not much room for story development...Square-Enix is probably going put more emphasis where Spirits Within failed...Action. More action. How much drama, action and nostalgy can you fit in an hour long movie? Not much. All I'm saying is, do not start drawing too many conclusions... or maybe the final product will not be the same to you. Sephiroth may not even appear in the movie! There's a burning image behind him and he shows the exact same animaton as in the old FMV..so it could be another teaser. Well, before I burn your eyes with such a lengthy post and almost all full of negativity I just want to draw a conclusion: It is FFVII we are talking about here...there are blind, sharp turns in the story as we all know, so we can expect a totally different story than what we imagine... Oh...and yes Fenrir is the mythological wolf that bites off Tyr's hand, gets bound by an "undestructable" collar made by dwarves and liberated by Loki, the god od treachery and mischief in Raganrok(Norse apocalypse)..where the wolf fights Odin to death, both falling in combat.... as for why the name...I think they chose it because it sounds cool :D..

P.S.: I think it is awesome that they release an FF7 movie..however...Square-Enix has been doing many unorthodox moves, which has angered a lot of fans...and FF7 is sacred stuff they are touching... they are playing with fire...if the community does not accept the storyline..Enix will go down just as square did...*chuckles*
