Was going to buy FFVII on Amazon, but at a whopping $199.99 for a new copy, I decided not to. This game must really be something. All other FFs were $15 new, tops!

Just wanted to share.

Depends on which version it is, and what condition. About the only version I can think of that would warrant such an enormous price would be the very rare Japanese-only FFVII International version for the PSX, which featured a bonus disc with making of featurettes and artwork - but even $200 is a bit steep for that.

FFVII isn't exactly a rare game, so ignore such prices - it's just pure greed and would most likely not sell. If you pay more than $30-50 for it, you're being ripped off (I mean, I found a mint-condition copy of the European 'Platinum' version complete with FFVIII demo trailer disc in a pawnshop a few years ago for only $10 (Australian dollars)!)

If you're really after the game there are alternatives to the PSX original - it's been available for purchase cheaply on the Playstation Network and playable on the PS3 and PSP for a while now. The old PC version has also just been recently re-released for digital download and purchase off Square Enix's own website too. EA also re-released the PC version a couple of years ago under their 'PC Classics' budget range as well, but that is quite hard to find now sadly.

In any event, FFVII isn't hard to find a copy of at all now as long as you're smart and know where to look. ;)

I have found it for a way cheaper price, and I understand its not rare, I just thought it was interesting that this $200 copy of FFVII would pop up first in an Amazon search.

What a rip off =/

i bought ff7 ,8 , and 9, off of half.com for less then 30 dollars in a package and 8, an 9 came brand new still sealed, greates its , but it was black label ff7 used, it was really sratched up but it plays pretty good, some cut scenes skip a little an freeze time to time but it always works on my second or 3rd attempt.....i thought i got a steal for it.....Anyways i wanted to say half.com is owned by ebay an the name pretty much says it all u can look up an item on half.com an then on ebay and i guarantee you it will be atleast 20 percent cheaper on half.com......oh yeah u can log into half.com with you're ebay account so no worries about signing up!!!
