Well, I should have come up with that one long ago ! So obvious... ;) So this is a rip from the glorious 1958 Stereo LP and it sounds like recorded yesterday morning. Oustanding sonics. Cover is too large to scan and that's a pity because is simply the most beautiful LP front cover EVER !

You can find bigger covers here (thanks miggyb !) :

And the score is simply Victor Young's best one, as one of the greatest soundtracks ever composed for the screen either. A thrilling masterpiece. I hope you'll enjoy this. Track 7 will blow you away !

A-Side :
1. Prelude-Train Wreck
2. Travel To The Cave-The Gypsy
3. Pilar
4. Warning In The Night
5. Maria's Story

B-Side :
6. Maria
7. Massacre
8. The Earth Has Moved
9. The Bridge Is Blown
10. Roberto's Farewell

Fantastic sound and the bells ring out loud and clear. I can hear an influence on the Batman TV theme too. This was the first complete score from an American film to be issued on record. Thanks for sharing this great music Robert.

Many thanks for your kind words. And I didn't know that cover you have posted. The cover of my LP is the one I posted in the first post. Did they release the Lp with two different covers at that time ?

The cover you posted is from the 1991 Stanyan CD release as well, a very rare CD indeed.

Robert Jordan...This movie must have a profound effect on you hence your avatar name and picture!!

Indeed ! One of my both favorite movie AND score AND book, even if the movie is a complete betrayal of the book. Great movie worth seeing in its extended cut. Just love those amazing close-ups, the beautiful photography, Ingrid... And what a score !

Thanks for this superb score, Robert - I saw the movie 2 or 3 times, which is very impressive in its own right, but didn't remember how good the score was (to be honest, I don't have any scores at all from Victor Young, either!). And this is a fantastic sounding LP rip, like you said!
