Recommend me something if you got good advice.I got a nearly full team of albheds.I recruited Eigaar, and he is amazing. The guy has better shot and throw than prince, and comes with napshot.brother has great throw range, and makes a good midfielder.Bopp, or whatever, is a good attacker.Zev ronso can take a serious beating, has good throw range, good shot, and good hp.He is quite slow though.Naida is really fast, and has massive range.Great midfielder.

Gamefaqs only helps so much.I think i need better defence.None of my characters have over 15 attack, and 1 or 2 over 10.They are really good though.I am trying to replace keepa.I can beat most teams with some difficulty. The albheds are the hardest though. Most teams have 1 or 2 tops good players. The albheds have all good players. That goalie is one tough one to score from.

Recruit the Al Bhed's goalie (Nimrook) as soon as he's available. I would wait until he has one game left in his contract, then play over and over until they hire someone to replace him. Then immediately pick him up (on the airship). Also, make sure you get the Jecht shot from the S.S. Wino. You can then win the Jecht Shot II when it's available.

My blitzball team:
Shaami (LF)
Tidus (RF)
Brother (MF)
Kiyuri (LD)
Ropp (RD)
Nimrook (G)

Bizarrely, this is the one part of FFX that I did like. Winning is very easy actually - the only non-aurochs player I recruited was one of the Guado players to be my goalie (I think I recruited him in Guadosalam, but I can't remember what his name was now). He probably isn't the best choice anyway, as I couldn't be bothered checking everyone's stats, but I knew Keepa wasn't good enough!

To win, I simply took manual control, got hold of the ball with one of my forwards or midfielders, then passed it back to my defenders. My defenders then chucked it back and forth between them whenever the opposition got close, until Tidus was unmarked at the front. I then pass the ball to him, swim right up to the goal and Jecht Shot it in. Works every time. The key to the game therefore, is possession. Don't try to score hundreds of goals, or brutalise your way through the enemy formation. Simply put, if the enemy team don't have the ball, then they can't score with it. Just keep hold of the ball, pull the enemy towards you by keeping it near your goal, then pass to Tidus when he's clear.

Doing this, you'll still win matches quite handily (2 or 3 nil at least). Its not the flashiest way to play the game, but it does work. Using this tactic, I went all the way through the league and won tournaments until I had all of the special prizes for Wakka (his limits and weapons etc) without losing a single game.

The guados have gotten way better.Kyuri and zalitz as defeners, but i beat them 4-0.I have won non stop with my team.I have shaami too, and keepa.Guide says that keepa has 99 shot at max level,

I have nimrook, and zev ronso has amazing stop power (23) When i catch enemies throwing the ball with zev ronso, or brother, i usually steal the ball from them.Only difficulty, is how fast those guados are.I may recruit zalitz in the future, but i'm not sure if shaami gets good ball stealing power, because that makes an even better midfielder to combine all 3.Her throwing power is low at this point too.

The Guados' speed is just something you have to live with. Eventually, some will leave the Guado Glories and get picked up by other teams, so the Glories won't consistently kick ass for much longer.

Even though Keepa's shot is 99 at max level, do you really want to be paying for his every game? His stats are sub-par in just about everything else.

P.S. What level are you? Mifurey is a great midfielder but only after she's about level 60 because until then, she's so damn slow. But then her speed gets to be around average at level 60 and I found her to be indispensable.

I recommend getting all the abilities you can because they really make a difference. Up to a point, you can live with somewhat low shot, pass, or tackle stats because they can be augmented by abilities.

I will get rid of keepa then.
Haven't tried mifurey or ropp yet, bopp is amazing though. Most of my characters are 20-30 except tidus who is level 38 or 39.

I got a huge amount of abilities .Dodge ability is great.I have dodged two enemies in a row, and scored before. The other abilities depend.Volley, and anti poison, and anti fatigue are very useful.I also prefer sphere shot over jecht shot. With sphere shot, i can secure my scores more, but jecht shot gets rid of two enemies in a row.Often i have scored easy goals thanks to them.I actually have such a good team now, that my goalkeeper gets almost no action.I am good at stealing the ball from most teams, and what difficulty i have is from good teams. The albheds and guados are hard, because they are fast, and the albheds hit hard. Most guados suck at hitting and receiving hits. The trouble is if their two good players, and the rest of the team gang up on you.Preventing can be done by luring them out, and sending in tidus with jecht shot.Similar strategy works with albheds, except that they are way way better in goalkeeper, and attackers. The ronso are the worse team. They are so sluggish, that i can score easily.

I honestly don't know how the ronso manage to win any game.Sure, they can survive anything, but they are terribly slow. The luca goers have really good attackers, but not good defenders at all.Kilika beasts suck. They have halfway decent defenders, but crappy attackers.

It's been over 3 years since I last played FFX, but I remember my Blitzball setup quite well. Brother is by far the fastest player of them all. As soon he gets the ball, you win. I just swam around the sphere with Brother, having the entire enemy team following him but never catching up. I got them as far away from their goalkeeper as I could and then I passed the ball to Tidus, who was usually around the center. Tidus then casually swims literally in front of the enemy goalkeeper with not a single enemy in sight to block your path or the ball. Use Jecht Shot or whatever else suits your fancy and win. I remember getting Wakka's ultimate weapon pretty fast. Although, I wasn't mad enough to even attempt Lulu's...

The Ronso Fangs and Luca Goers are pretty bad teams, unless by some chance one of the badass Ronsos (forget his name) with really high defense and shot takes shots at your goalie. The Kilika Beasts and Guado Glories are pretty middle of the road; they have their good aspects and bad aspects. The Al Bhed Psyches are the ones you really have to watch out for because they are a very well-balanced team. I always had the most trouble with them.

Tackle Slip 2 is pretty awesome. Anti-Wither 2 and Anti-Nap 2 are basically musts for your players. I recommend outfitting Tidus with Jecht Shot I (or preferably II) and some kind of pass and tackle technique (Nap Pass 3 and Wither Tackle 3 would be my customization), while putting Sphere Shot on Brother and Wither Shot 3 on Shaami. Like Smarty said, once Brother gets the ball, you can just run up to the goalie and make a shot. Eventually, it would get so bad that I only threw to my other forwards out of pity because they wouldn't get any shots in otherwise.

I never used Volley Shot because it was just so impossibly hard for me to trigger it for some reason. One of the problems that you mentioned was that the goalie doesn't get much experience because the rest of your players are preventing the opposing team from attempting to score. So what I did was dominate in the first round and then switch one of my characters out for Nimrook (the goalie) and I just passed the ball between him and someone else to rack up the experience points. If you get enough points in the first round, you won't lose the second even with the 'wrong' guy as goalie.

take ur fASTESt player zoom by the opponents so that they start chasing you. dont let them get to far behind or to close . take them all the way to ur own goal, make the long pass down to a wide open tidus an take the free open shot

After getting the first jecht sphere I double back on my course all the way back to the beginning of the game to get the rest.. this is also when I start to play blitzball for the first time.... partly because I just want to start playing it already, partly to get the attack reels, partly for return spheres and teleport spheres, and because with my overclocked 2600K processor I am able to run the game at an extremely fast pace with the frame limiter off, which saves a lot of time getting back. Here's the team I used, and why I used it. This team is for low levels... under 30. It is untested at higher levels.

Center... Wedge. Why wedge? He's somewhat faster than normal and does what I want a forward to do... have a high attack rating and high endurance... he can dish it out or swipe the ball away... plus his block is also reasonable. His low pass never was a problem.. I'd simply retreat and pass the ball to someone with a higher pass like either Tatts or Ropp. When you are power leveling you don't want to be far from the person you are passing the ball too anyways. This saves clock time. I'd also use him to quickly score goals against teams with bad goalies or against slow teams like the ronso fangs. My biggest problem with wedge is his difficulty learning things like "nap pass" and "wither pass" to help him gain EXP faster... to this day I still only have "nap pass 3" for him.. the one he came with. He does have a couple tackles though and because of his game where he scores 10+ goals he still gains exp fast.

Left Forward... Tidus. My main goal scoring character against all teams including ones with the best players and goalies like Nimrook. His jecht shot just gives him an unfair advantage. His other stats are blah, which is fine since I can get out a good wither tackle or whatever for experience without swiping the ball away from the other character.

Right Forward... Tatts. I don't use both my forwards to score goals... tatts does exactly what I want my right forward to do.... he sets up tidus in the right position with few players nearby so I can pass the ball to him.. with high endurance and high pass, this character can both take a beating and dish out good passes, making successful passes through multiple defenders. The low AT does not matter for this character and like I said, this character does not score goals. Tatts also has above average speed, and is able to lose defenders from time to time.

Left Defense..Zalitz... with a high AT and BL rating he does what I need the defense to do.. strips the ball away. The lower PA (which does rise to become modestly useful) and lower EN don't matter that much. I did replace this character with Doram of the Luca Goers when available (when their contract was up) ... I have not played much with Doram yet as I just did this. Doram is more 'well balanced' and should fit the task well.

Right Defense... Ropp. Ropp is cheap, effective, well balanced, and highly regarded, with lots of techs. Any team's go to defensive character.

Goalie... Jumal... cheap and effective at low levels, with the "super goalie" tech that raises his effectiveness.

My strategy is when wedge gets the ball, to retreat and pass it around a bit to my defense to raise their experience... eventually it get passed to Ropp who passes it to Tatts... tatts moves towards the other teams goal which draws the other team members away from Tidus and sets him in a good position.... then Tatts is able with his high PA and EN to make long passes through multiple players if needed to Tidus, who then scores the goal with the jecht shot if required.

On some slow teams like the Ronso Fangs I am able to score well over 10 points by just having wedge strip the ball from the opposing player, running somewhat close to their goal, and doing a sphere shot... this gives him some good exp. In the long run I'd probably replace Wedge with Brother or Zalitz/Doram with Naida (calm lands shop) or one of the Al Bhed Players (only found on the airship) but I don't have access to those players and am very happy with this setup at lower levels.

I admittedly do take advantage of quicksave to gain techs quicker and the frame limiter to speed certain parts along.. like from the time I make a goal to the time they get the ball back, things like that. I gain techs because techs give experience when passing the ball around in the back.. good to have "venom pass 2" or whatever on a character.

My plan is to take Yuna to Auron's part of the sphere grid around where get gets "armor break" using a level 2 lock along Tidus's path and a teleport sphere. I'll also use my accumulated magic spheres, MP spheres, etc. in this area so Auron and Tidus can both get them. All the strength +4 spheres in here make the Aeons much more powerful than what Yuna's path provides. Right now Yuna is stopped on her path accumulating levels right where that level 4 lock is along her path hiding all those good strength spheres... she will be teleported soon to that above mentioned location. You get return spheres as a prize for most goals in a tournament, and a teleport sphere for winning the league.. you just need to keep soft resetting until you get what you want.

Team Member Locations.. all free agents if you haven't played any games yet except Doram:

Jumal: Luca Seaport (Square)
Wedge: Luca Stadium (Main Gate)
Zalitz: Luca Theater
Tatts: Kilika Port (Docks)
Ropp: Mi'ihen Highroad (Travel Agency)
Doram: Luca Harbor (Number 3 Dock... under contract for a number of games at start)

Don't forget to go back to besaid and get that jecht sphere at the first temple (and on the ship in the captain's cabin on the way there) while you are at it.. there is no 'dark aeon' there blocking the path if you do it when I did.
