Just wondering what everybody thinks about having to play Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles with a Gameboy.

I think this pretty much sums it up for me:

A Gameboy?

Hmph, better than I expected. I though you needed four Gamecubes. :( And I would buy GBAs for my friends just so we could play it. It looks awesome. :/ Though just 4 pads would be much less... money-grabbing of Nintendo.

the gba thing is stupid, but you dont NEED one, you can play through the whole game without it, you just cant play multiplayer.

Actually, if you read IGN, Single Player uses the N's usual controller... and like Mog mentioned on the mainsite, any FF Fan will have a GBA anyway, because of FFTA.

That said, apparently FFCC has no story worth mentioning...

But hell, i'm still buying a GC for it, especially since they're only $99. AND MGS is coming out on it.

Get Metroid Prime too. I bought it with pretty low expectations, but it was cheap and turned out I really liked it. But maybe that's just me.

Mario Kart, too. :o

And the whole point of CC is multiplayer, hence the absence of plot. ;P

From what I heard, 4 players can get a little hectic. 2 is more than enough, 3 is just great. You also can use the GBA in Single Player but it's not needed.

Why on earth they decided that the first Final Fantasy on a Nintendo machine in like forever was going to be just a multiplayer Gauntlet lookalike is beyond me.

Nintendo should have just asked for FFXIII or something.

That said, if you do get a GameCube for this, make sure you get Legend of Zelda : The Windwaker, it's utterly amazing!

The game is actually pretty good, i got it on the day it came out, although it could have been improved quite a bit, there isnt even a map unless you have a gba! but i find gameplay quite enjoyable, plus, there's a level dedicated to tonberry's, you cant go wrong with tonberry's

I wonder if anyone see's the point of the comic....

If you're stupid, you would say that the GBA thing was expensive. GBAs are 40 bucks right now. You don't need to 4 or 3 or whatever, you just need one for yourself. Then comes your friends... they buy their GBA's, thus giving them that advantage of being able to play FFCC along with you.

In other words, theres a lot of other things to really bitch about instead of the GBA thing. :D

Penny Arcade is the best. Though that is funny as hell. You should already have some place to play video games and some kinda of couch or chair in your home. Second complaining about why you have buy the system would be BS, if you wan't to play the game, buying the system is mandatory.

Four GBA's in not entirely true. You can always play Single player.

But the game is definitely meant to be played in multiplayer. My friend who has the game keeps telling me whenever he plays single he's sighing about how multi is much more fun. I sure am interested in the game but probably won't get it. The reason's quite simple. Unlike back in High School, most of my friends aren't gamers. I know of only one guy I'm sure who I'd be able to play with. My other friends mostly aren't gamers and especially not RPGamers. I already have a GB Player to play GBA games on my Cube. Therefore shelling about 250 dollars canadian ( 140 for the GBA, 20 for the cable and 70 for the game not including taxes ) just to play a game I won't be enjoying in multiplayer most of the time is quite steep for me. But anyway, that friend I was talking about already has the game and two GBAs (one for him and the other belongs to his brother) so I can always pay him a visit lol We often lend games to each others so it's no bother ;)

That said, for those who know many gamer friends, definitely go for it. I'm sure you'll have a blast. As for me, had they made the game multiplayer via online broadband I would have gotten it for sure. And it would've sold more as well. Just make communication possible via some specially designed headset. :p Nintendo and Square Enix easily could've come up with that. Oh well.

I'm not sure if they make enemies any harder with multiplayer, cuz i dont have a gba, but if they don't, play it through on single player first, challenges are a good thing, the bosses would be way to freakin easy in multiplayer. especially if you had 4 people all together, and you dont have to worry about dying on single player because no ones there to heal you, just put a few pheonix downs in your command list and you have auto life!
